- Best... more- Best in class battery life = Not yet, still far behind.
- Water/dust resistance = confirmed
- Solid/durable and unique build = confirmed
- Minimized bloatware = confirmed
Camera and audio will always be top 5 given Sony's in-house resources = = confirmed
Forget the gimmicks. Focus on practicality. lol remember me that people call it as gimmick but when their brand follow, they defend it. Double standard!

XZ Premium is awesome but this one is not... 2017 Sony phone will have same spec and higher price than 2016 galaxy s7 ? Thats just bad.
But once again... good work on XZ premium.

Okay, the xperia premium is awesome especially with that gorgeous 4K display but the I don't feel the need for such a high resolution display, i'll get the XZs which has got all for a great smartphone in 2017 amd dont forget that camera!!!

Sony really should have considered putting the 835 in the XZs too. That combined with the upgraded camera would have made this a true "s" version as the performance and battery life would also have gotten significant boosts.

Ill be honest I buy Sony because they don't blindly follow the herd, people complaining bezels are the idiots who just follow what the new thing is this year. As for Apple they won't remove it even if they have to. Sony actually puts in things that are useful and fun. Slow mo thing imo is amazing when shooting hoops, jumping in a pool, bursting a baloon..

But as a long time Sony user, I see them compromising on the features that made their phones distinct from others, just to get into the hyped-features-race-game. Not what they usually did. Give me a badass battery and top-notch build quality with IP68 in a sexy sleek design. If I want gimmicks and toys, I'll buy an LG.
But I get your point, just saying, I would be very unhappy if they started to follow others trends instead of making their own, which they used to do. And again they brought back the glass rear panel, plus now with added near chrome polish finish of the body...It's all nice but people don't like using that. I know, I had the Z1, Z3, Z5 and now with the XZ I am much happier with the final finish and some metal on the back. Glass and chrome is as sexy as it gets to look at, but as far as using the thing goes, it's a nightmare. Same as Glossy plastic on PC and appliances, it's horrid and useless.

from phones to DSLRs - have a Sony sensor at their heart. Apple, Samsung, LG, Xiaomi and many, many others use Sony sensors to great effect. Sony Mobile - somehow - never quite managed to nail it.

Well to answer my own question, I've now had it confirmed that the XZs will not be released in the UK, or Europe for that matter.
I sent an email to a uk based online retailer asking for availability details, they responded saying that they had been provided information by Sony Mobile stating there were no plans as yet for a release in this region, and that as of now only the XZ Premium and the XA1 are confirmed as coming to the UK.
As someone who liked the idea of having an XZ with an improved camera (as I'm not happy with it on the standard XZ) I must say I'm disappointed a little.

I agree with with you, that irony when Sony supply many sensor then other beat them. But in real life Sony cam performance is great, I'm using S7, XZ, mi 5 and all to work, no fans at all. Buy one for working purpose.
