So far my Xperia Z is working fine. Charged my phone last night and it's still 70%. So far no complaints

    For design LG, HTC, and Sony are good. But, because of you don't like them, the options are Samsung and LG, I agree Samsung is always the same in design, but the quality is good. If you don't agree with Galaxy design, go for LG, UI is ugly doesn't mean has bad performance or problem like earpiece interminently work and not work.

We can't make sure if we frequently put it under water, we won't find any problem with speaker, earpiece, jack audio, etc. Nobody knows.

            OH GOD,totally messed up.what the HELL the smartphones companies are doing??
            I have considered 4 phones to Buy
            HTC ONE M7,XPERIA Z,SAMSUNG GALAXY S4,LG G2
            (1)HTC ONE
            everything is awesome but 4MP Camera(are Kidding me a flagship phone's camera has 4MP resolution Camera)
            on othe side this so called ultra pixel camera after somtimes starts giving pink tint in photos...So I cancelled to buy this phone
            (2)XPERIA Z
            I love ITs design and UI,but Flaps tightness Duarability,and now earpiece problem ... I also cancelled it
            (3) GALAXY S4
            GOOD DISPLAY,CAMERA,DESIGN BUT don't like touchwiz UI and AMOLED has less Durability....
            (4) LG G2
            VERY VERY NICE HARDWARE ,DISPLAY,but UI sucks....
            so guys totaly confused ... help to choose Better smartphone.....any other sugession will also be apriciated.... my basic expectations are
            (1)Design & UI(2)ZERO LAG experience (3)CAMERA (4)reliablity & Durability...

If you search in internet, many users complaint about speaker internal (earpiece) not working during a call. Not only Xperia Z, but also the other series like ZR, ZL or Z1). Downgrade, update, upgrade, doesn't fix this issue. If next year Sony release Android 5.0 for all Xperia Z series, then not working earpiece issue still not fix, I can says all Z series are defective with earpiece.

                        I have just flashed it back to Jelly Bean 4.1.2, I found the earpiece again not working, if you press the speaker, the sound will appear again, very bad its design, good looking only but make the earpiece not working.

                          I got finally tired of Sony´s own Android with white background, battery issues and tons of bloatware and flashed CM11. Much better performance and greater look.

Because price is vary, depends on country. In Indonesia, the difference cost between Z1 and Z1 Compact can reach USD 42, Z1 is the most expensive among them.

                                I am simple user, for me, camera is just OK, when I active the main camera, there were several small black dot (I don't know what they are called), my Xperia Z was second hand and I was sure no problem with first owner, he didn't tried yest put it on water. While the front camera is clear, no small back dots. Design, I like it although I hate the service center repair service in my country, both front and back were made by a like glass, look very good. The flaps that cover ports of course fro protect water and dust. Frequently use, open and close like want to get it charge, one a day it this flap side becomes not as tight as other flaps, I thinks it's normal. Power on/off button made in stainless steel, good idea, prevents it from corotion.

                                Hardware, so far I don't face any problem. The problem is software, noticed it when it is in KitKat 4.4., sometimes the earpiece won't work and sometimes it gets back to normal again. When it is doesn't work, if I receive a call or I call people, I can't hear any sound, the earpiece area if is pressed, the sound will appear again. Bugs in KitKat. In Jelly Bean 4.3 I can't guarantee too if there will a bug like this again or not.

                                Xperia Z1 Compact looks nicer although it's smaller, but the performance is good

I post it here, about earpiece speaker issue in during call can't hear people talk because I myself experience. I noticed it after KitKat 4.4. In Jelly Bean 4.3 I couldn't remember, I read in internet, other user said experience the same issue too even he/she in Jelly Bean 4.3.

                                      For HTC One M7 I never use, can't share much about it.
