Dont buy this phone!
Excuse my english,
My xperia z , stop working, after i submerged the unit!
So wheres the Water proof?
I can turn it on when i plug it to ac, but when no ac, i cant power it on.
When it boot ups, always on Safe mode,
And the screen always flickering!! sometimes no Display!! but i can hear the sounds!!
WASTE OF MONEY!!!

I have an Xperia Z for about half a year now. I updated to 4.3(KitKat I think) about 1 week ago. Since I upgraded, my battery life decreased dramatically: went down from around 1 day and a half - 2 days to around 1 day, 1 day and 3-4 hours.
Heating is normal depending on what you use it for: if you speak on the phone with the phone at your ear for 1-2 hrs, then expect that to happen; if you play a high demanding game -> it will heat and consume a lot of battery fast; if you decided to read some news on the net with 5-10 tabs open (I use Chrome) and listen to music on your Bluetooth headset -> expect it to use a lot of battery and to start getting warm.
The above is normal. The only thing you could change is not do the update to 4.3. I'm not saying it's bad (didn't have time to tinker with it and see why the battery life went down) but I'd advise waiting a bit more.

Just admit it Sony messed up the display (I'am only talking about the display, the rest of the phone is quite good)
Display is an important factor for a phone with large screen Sony should have used the new IPS lcd technology rather than old TFT technology

This is normal because in these conditions the device uses more power than usual and therefore generates more heat.

when compared other phones... moreMy eyes are above average and i really like the Z display, it does have visibly lower contrast than say LG G2 but it isnt inferior in daily use.
Especially compared to AMOLED it shines, as AMOLEDs have color flickering up close, you can never get rid of that yellowish magenta flickers when reading on white backgrounds, and the blue or green tint when viewed from even a slight angle is unacceptable. The whites of Xperia Z does grey out a little when viewed form a slight angle, but it doesnt turn blue, making it easy to read an entire book nonstop on this phone.
HTC i dont even want to mention as Sense is doing something to the colors that destroys the natural looks of everything. One GPE is better since it doesnt manipulate but thats not an international model anyway.
And finally, remember that Xperia Z has outsold HTC One and LG G2 combined, well done if its such a bad phone. Best phone i ever had, no doubt, display is more than good enough.

when compared other phones in the same price range or even below it,the display is pretty bad even lg & HTC phones have better display they are bright and vivid
I'am not talking about the pixel density but purely on the basis of color reproduction capacity of the display technology used
with phones being advances ordinary tft displays don't
make the cut

Maybe its the waterproof earpiece that causes lower volume on Z. I wouldnt say its too low though, cant say i remember ever having volume problems.

YOU CAN DO THIS ON YOUR OWN, JUST DO IT SLOWLY.
NOTE: When you will stick the adhesive tape to the phone, first of all I recommend you to heat it up with a heater and then apply the battery cover and press all over the edges and wait some time to dry off.

yes you can... just make sure the flaps/covers are closed. JUst use the timer before submerging under the water

It seems like you're used to over saturated color display. I wont argue regarding the battery cause there's some truth to that. But with the display, hell ya , it's a BIG lie.

How i wish we could post pictures or screenshots here in gsmarena. It could help a lot in saving time from explaining and sharing each other's idea and knowledge regarding the phone. And it would probably lessen the trolls.

one of the best phone out there but overrated imho.
weak battery life and poor display. other features A+...
Keep in mind that you are looking at the phone's screen majority of your usage time. Too many sony fanboys in this site :)
