My batt... morehonestly I tried everything! charging in offline mode is something I rarely have tried, I'll try that too but no joke I don't charge very often I wait till it drops below 20% then charge and in some occasions let it die completely and then charge! I'm depressed guys honestly! should I go service center? I know I won't get a replacement that's for sure :-(

AnonD-16865, 19 Apr 2013my phone was plugged off at 6pm with 75% battery now it's 1... moreOK, first, something's wrong. I've plugged my phone off at 60% at 10 am this morning. It's 22,13 here now and my phone shows 36 %. Meanwhile: I've watched a full episode (50 min), I've talked about one hour, did some browsing, sms, everything with WIFI on, GPS on and what not. My stamina shows 11 hours (I repeat, at 36%)!. This means that stamina calculates the remaining time contextually.
here's what I think you should do:
- turn off stamina
- restart your phone (that should put stamina to sleep for good)
- charge your phone up to 100% (pay attention, Sony tells you that it will stay some while at 99%, in order to increase the number of cycles of recharge. All this info is in the User manual, I don't understand why people don't read those things, they're extremely useful!)
- use it until the battery dies
- this should reformat your battery.
- if it's not a major inconvenience, do this three times.
- AFTER this, restart stamina.
- now restart this phone again.
- finally, check stamina estimations after a couple of weeks (that is, give it time to learn your style of using the phone)
If I'm right, you should see a major improvement.

Mine is even on LTE...
My battery can last a whole day with whatsapp, facebook, line, wechat, email on in stamina mode and chat with friends~
And even 2 hours of web surfing and gaming with downloads in the background...
Now I still got 20% left after 12 hours...
Please re-optimize ur battery~
You never charge for at least 8 hours when you get it 1st hand right?

I think 5 inch is really perfect size for smartphone screen. Best wishes for sony .

my phone was plugged off at 6pm with 75% battery now it's 12am with 18%!!!!!! what the hell is wrong Sony??? I hardly used some calls and two hours surfing and also stopped listening music from this phone but using e63 to listen music as back up! I'm depressed with battery life guys!! it's honest opinion is anyone too facing same on 3g???

I need a back up phone! xperia z battery has been sadly less than what I expected !!! honestly struggling till 5pm everyday :-( ! looking for good battery back up mid ranged handset! but shelling money again is a pain!!

other thing is i have done display test on my phone..
it got white, black, red, green, blue and last one was rainbow cloured.
is it all fine or do i need to replace it?

advice, 19 Apr 2013the s3 was released May 2012 while the xz released February... moreS3 has better screen? Better get your amoled damaged eye, my old xperia s crushes my brother's s3 display. Viewing angles are just bs, I never view my phone from sides. My brother's s3 lasts only 3-4 hours of game play and my sxs can match that. Wanna know how? Because low brightness on pentile amoled sucks!! You need full brightness to enjoy the oversaturated colors. While in my sxs, you don't need full brightness to enjoy what you're playing. Even my old xperia pro beats the crap out of s3 display. Troll somewhere else.

Mine use to say 10-12 hours. I purposely left it for 20-23 hours on battery before charging for a couple of days. Now my stamina mode shows 1day and 4 hours on a full charge yet it may not last that long depending on My usage

the s3 uses 8 MP camera but still gives a better images and videos than the 13 MP camera of the xz
the s3 has better endurance rating with video play back of 9:27h,the video play back time of the xz is only 5:39h
the s3 is thinner ,shorter and lighter than the xz
although the s3 is one year old now but still can compete with some of top 2013 phones.

Simple Xperia Z is fast from stock no tweaks supports USB memory sticks via the USB port Need a Micro USB to Female USB adapter Awesome, My galaxy S3 was slow when I got it slow like the first android phones, The Samsung apps were clunky unable to remove them forced twitter and facebook down my throat with popups.

The Volume on SGS 3 is clearer with loud speaker
but the Xperia is water resistant something to do with that maybe.
Xperia only 3 hardware buttons power volume [up down]
Galaxy has the Touch panel buttons at the bottom 6 buttons
Unlocking the Bootloader on the Xperia z is easy sony provide detailed instructions and warning,
The S3 unlocking was iffy and took some time,
Rooting the S3 was simple replaced the stock rom with a modified Stock rom no changes booted back in fine
matched the version of my stock rom.
Xperia z is doing what I want without unlocking is not excessively using power like a stock S3 and USB sticks work on it unlike the S3 until modded.
Xperia z needs no case is dust resistant and water resistant can delete sony installed Apps unlike the Samsung stuff which was forced onto me and would consume a lot of power monitoring me.

Nice phone but too big for using with one hand. I can say the same about Samsung galaxy S2, S3 and S4. People that work need another type of device. Mobile phone with the same size as Iphone 5 is enough.

I use my phone intesely and still ... moreit's tough to say I do watch videos while on the go and chat maybe one hour and music three on Bluetooth hours and maybe on internet three hours or four! and brightness is 15% or 20%! but I assume everyone is on 3g thats what I'm taking about now!! 2g well he'll save battery no doubt! either my fone is the unlucky faulty piece! and stamina mode when bought shows 4 days something but now on full charge shows just 6 hours! I'm sure it calculates usage or something wrong? still giving juice defender try by shuting stamina mode? hope there is no harm? honest reply what should I do I'm really low!
