I really want to buy this beauty. Been waiting for it since CES. But... I heard the rumour about new cybershot and walkman phone in the making.... Now I'm torn, hahaha. I wonder should i buy this or wait....

I had this phone for two days and to start with i loved it, sadly the power button did not work so that phone was basically useless. I then exchanged this phone for the same model, this one lasted 30 seconds then died completely. I now have the HTC one and have not any issues at all. So the Xperia Z is a brilliant phone but the first amount seem to have serious issues and there are a lot of forms discussing the dying issue so just watch out.

The battery is getting better day by day~
It takes time for the battery to be fully optimize...
Did your charged it at least 8 hours when you get it 1st hand?
Many people blame the battery~
But actually they never follow the steps to maximize the battery life...

You are the only one facing this problem...
Heating problem seriously?
Are you a modern people?
Do you have laptop, phone, tab?
Processors will heat up while it working~
Laptops have a built-in fan also will heat up and you will feel uncomfortable when you put it on your lap...
How about smartphones with no build-in fan?
I watched Full HD movie with SONY Xperia Z~
It does heat up but it's warm not burning as you mention...==

You still can see your LED Notification light or not?
If you can see it~
It's not the cover problem...
Because the sensor is located inner by bit~
Try dial "*#*#7378423#*#*" = "*#*#SERVICE#*#*"...
Choose "Service Tests"~
Then "Proximity Switch"...
It will be "OFF" if the sensor is not covered~
If it shown "ON" your sensor might be faulty...
Please remove your cover and clean the surface before you do the test~

First thing the battery takes around 3 hours to charge to 100% in power off mode. and as soon as you start it, it starts draining with a speed of 1% in every one minute. secondly, while receiving or making any calls, the screen goes blank and u cant really see the screen till the time your call is disconnected. Thirdly, the phone while on call or while using any apps gets so heated up, u will fear it might burst on ur face !! Its been only 4 days that I hv been using it but I hv faced tooo many problems for starters. So wise advise - think again or buy it from someone known who wud exchange it in case you too face the same problems...!!

hi every1...im going to buy my first Smartphone & for me its hell lot of money..so i need ur genuine help guys[specially who've used the smartphone]
As far as HTC 1 is concerned...so far no bad things i've read about it
But for Xperia Z i've read Speakers,display & camera are not great in reviews
so guys who already have these smartphones...can u tell me ur views about it

It's located at top right beside the "LED Notification indicator"...
Maybe there's dust covering it~
Please clean your phone surface with a clean cloth or tissue...
"Proximity sensor" will make your phone screen goes blank when your phone is close enough to your head or ear~
And also when something covered the sensor...
It's to prevent accidental touch while you talking on the phone~

hi all, im a proud owner of the best of sony in a smartphone - xperia z since almost a month, the phone works very well except for the fact that when ever i receive an incoming call, my phone automatically goes into the speaker mode, suggestions and solutions will be appreciated ???

This is a very funny thing. Whenever I m making or receiving a call, the screen goes blank and If I am calling a customer care, I only keep hearing their voice but cant press any options on the screen as the screen is blacked out !! huhhh what nonsense !! is anybody else also facing the same prblm ?

Please have this debate elsewhere. Add him as Facebook friend or something. This is comment page regarding USER experience correction to specs, I don't see how this helps potential consumers into buying this product.
In my opinion this best treatment for trollers is to ignore them or report them to gsmarena. At least this way we are not dropping low to their level. I just find it funny that although we defend ourselves hard we still don't go crapping on S4 page, which is fantastic because we are more educated phone users and we aren't trashy. But to stay this way we shouldn't get into a crossfire with these trollers. Report them so their post can be removed and that's it.
So, when potential buyers read comments and reviews they have something positive to read about and not little kids arguing on this page. I am a XZ user too but frankly speaking when HTC one and S4 releases they will capture a majority of the market share (especially S4), it doesn't mean it's the better phone. In many ways it is, but better or not is down to personal preference. I've come from iPhone 5 and for me a bigger screen, IP57, premium feel and most importantly smoothness of UI as iOS is the smoothest when it comes to animation were all winners. It doesn't mean it's better then iPhone 5 and all phones will have pros and cons over one another. Like S4 benchmarks are all winners against XZ but to be honest what do I need to do with all these benchmarks? XZ runs so smooth, I dare to say its gonna be smoother than the S4 UI. Plus is water resistant which really is a bonus.
Some people complain about loudspeaker. Now I always use headphones for music and movies. Loudspeaker on XZ, S3 were all poor to begin with. Not punchy, no bass compared to iPhone 4-5. Does it mean iPhone 4 is better than XZ now?
Lets not get nit-picky and share the positive and negative experiences only from genuine users. I've had mine for around 5 weeks now and I must say although I am in love with the handset there are certain aspects that aren't as good as iPhone 5. We learn to compromise as all manufacturers offer what they can and we choose what we need. Simple. If I go to an S4 - I will compromise ip57, compromise premium feel and ip57 however I will gain a better handset under than hood. What is more important for me? What is more important for you? Only you can decide, but we can help by pointing out positives and negatives from genuine users only,
There is no need for Sony is crap or Saumsng is rubbish. Come on guys, are we still in primary school?
My opinion is right now is slowly and slowly I'm not missing the iPhone 5, when I pick up my wife's one it feels so small yet the UI is still amazing. Day by day my XZ battery performs better - you guys will realise soon the battery is good. Only reason people complain about battery life is because the phone you now own is new and shiny. The phone has never been so active in your hands before. As time goes by and when you get over the fact it's new, you will stop playing with it as much naturally and it's only then when you should compare the battery life. Enjoy.
