[deleted post]You obviously have no idea what style means. It's all right, you do deserve a plastic phone. But before you actually buy (another) one, just try this beauty in a store. It's such a different class that you'll have to admit (at least to yourself) that the two can't be compared. You're right, S4 is faster. But Z has no lags whatsoever (after intensive use for two weeks, so it's my own experience) and the display is simply elegant and natural, not the cartoon-like display of contemporary AMOLEDS. This is a matter of personal style, I know, but I'd feel ashamed to boost around with S4 when Z is around. Plastic is plastic, you can't change that.

Just updated mine. It turns out there have been no problems with my stamina tool. + (and this is why I'm writing this comment) it OBVIOUSLY did something to my camera. Instead of opening in 3+ seconds, as it did, it now only needs 1+ second (around one second, it's definitely less than 1,5). Also, it's back at around 850 MB RAM (as opposed to previous values around 1250)

Anonymous, 06 Apr 2013The "best" thing is that those guys dont even car... moreSebastian, your arrogance about spare battery carrying needs addressing, and will inform dear readers some correct points of its advantages.

You quoted, "The "best" thing is that those guys dont even carry an extra battery."

Owners of a device with a removable battery CAN have a CHOICE of actually buying a spare one, or not. Most won't but those who are constantly moving about would be wise to do so.

You quoted, "And if they really did they usually forgot to charge it, because they need to remove the other battery to charge the spare in the phone. They would need a desktop charger for the battery, why dont they attack samsung and say "What, no desktop charger for spare battery in the box?? Bye sammy!!""

Other brands been selling extra battery with a charger bundle. This is purely optional.

You quoted, "A portable powerbank is much easier to charge, and no harder to carry than a spare battery, and it provides continuous operation, no need to shut down phone to change battery."

A spare battery has a flatter and smaller body volume than a powerbank. It takes no more than two minutes to replace and turn on the device. Using a powerbank is much more inefficient in charging as it does not fully give you all the mAh charge as indicated and charges longer than the original Sony charger. It takes about 2 hours+ to charge a device as oppose to 2 minutes to change to a fresh battery. I see at least a 5500mAh powerbank giving you another good 150% charge for the XZ. You can get the slimmer $100 or so powerbank, but you'll have a bigger bulge and an ugly wire connected to the device.

You quoted,"But again, it does not matter since most people who whine about removeable battery dont have a spare anyway."

                        How can you assume that?

Other benefits of removable battery devices over fixed ones are:

SECURITY - there are likely chances of forgetting your device while you charge it outside home. They are also prone to snatching.

BATTERY LONGEVITY - by cycling batteries, the longer their lives will be. The average battery cycles is around 500.

PERPETUALLY WIRELESS - you can enjoy your device unwired everywhere.

Advice to XZ owners - yeah, please do carry the thinner powerbank if you need more power. If you can place extra desk slide-in chargers at the office or safe charging environments, do so. This might be the little sacrifice for the waterproofing of the XZ. That feature is something I can honestly admit would want for a smartphone. Best to also wait for battery jackets for the XZ.

Sebastian, there's no need to bash other battery systems. I seem to remember Sony/Ericsson has models with removable batteries. It's just a miss that Sony started having fixed batteries more.

I am coming from an S3 to XZ.and i love the design and.build quality of this phone. I dont ser how this phones is way way behind tech and performance wise. This phone is fast enough for a completely lag free experience with a superb camera and SD card support.i never listen to songs on the speakers so the boom sound gimmick doesnt work on me. The battery life is second to none and the.screen is decent enough for every day use. I see htc doing a silent copying job of the idevice. I would hate people saying it looks like an isheep. It is a matter of preference in the end.
