Yes the glass back is scratch resistant, but its not covered by anti-shatter film, so don't hit it with the hammer :)
Real life environment you cannot damage this phone with just falling it to the floor, the XZ skeleton frame is totally bad ass. So you can drop it all day long without care about it, try to do this with an S3 or S4 :)) NOT

So yes it's very strong and scratch resistance, add to that a shatter prove sheet which u can always remove if it gets scratched....

If you take a closer look, you'll remark that it has a film (that makes it shutter proof, I assume). As for the glass beneath, it is scratch proof and resists against hits. Not as tough as gorilla glass though, but I don't care, I'm careful with my phones. I don't use any cover really and it seems just fine... I hate comparisons, but you'll see that the difference in built quality and elegance between this phone and most of the other phones is really obvious. This looks high end, not at all plastic-like. it is beautiful and pretty solid, which works for me.

ive alwats been a sony products fan and this phone seems a big deal, all my sony's phone still allive till now !the quality is much more better than the plastiky samsung! i got S3 as soon as they launch it for $800 !!i hold HTC sensation dual core and it seems that the S3 quadcore has the same same performence of my dualcore HTC!! the built quality of S3 is a complete failur!have you ever tried to take a pic of a moving object with S3?! disaster, so please samsung fans be objective when you write your comments.i carry now HTC sensation , Sam S3,xperia Z, The Z is the real deal!

hi daers, i'ma buy this epic tomorrow, just a question, is the back scratch proof/resistant? as i dont use protection covers with my phones.what about battery back up, like i am a heavy user with facebook, twitter, whatsapp and wikipedia all the time almost. hoping to hear an opinion soon so i could go get my Z, was a samsung fan since omnia but i had enough when another plastic crap is released, named S4

anyone know.. if apps and games could be moved to sdcard? ofcourse without rooting the phone that is! i totally love the phone, BUT if i were to use ONLY 16GB for apps and games.. i think its too little for me :( so

i've just received mine a few days ago. finding faults to this phone is simply an act of insolence. it is so beautiful that i can't believe i own one. equally fast. equally powerful and accommodating. etc etc.
guys, trust me, you won't believe it. if you don't believe me, do try one in a store when you get the chance. check the gallery, the grip, the amazing design (much more obvious when you hold the phone in your hand) and what not.
