AnonD-80084, 18 Mar 2013Hi... I'm a SonyEricsson user. Actually I'm going to buy ... moreThats true, the viewing angle is not an issue. Compared to Xperia Mini the Z has a much thinner display, screen content will appear as almost on the surface, so in fact it has better viewing angles than Xperia Mini.

The only Xperia i have used where viewing angle was a real problem was Xperia Tipo, lets just say there are good reasons why the Tipo is living in a box, and its not even my spare phone. It has acceptable performance, some lag problems, games are good, but the display is... Very sad.

Analyst: Galaxy S4 could help Samsung
      overtake Apple in high-end smartphone
      shipments
According to estimates put forth by analysis firm Nomura , Samsung’s
recently announced Galaxy S4 might be just the thing the company needs
to finally propel it past Apple to become the world’s top vendor of high-
end smartphones. Samsung has held the claim of top mobile
manufacturer globally for several quarters, but the Korean company has
fallen short in one key area: while Samsung has moved tens of millions of
Galaxy S and Galaxy Note handhelds, Apple’s iPhone continues to outsell
      those devices.
Nomura projects that Samsung could move between 35 million and 40
million Galaxy S4 and Note 2 handsets combined, finally pushing ahead
of Apple’s iPhone sales figures in 2013. The company notes, however,
that the GS4 is more “evolutionary” than “revolutionary,” a sentiment
echoed by many. Still, the firm sees the upgrades over last year’s model
as enough to entice plenty of users around the globe.
The rise in market dominance means Apple and Samsung will have to
compete on more than just features, which Nomura analysts believe
could trigger a pricing war that would work in the favor of the consumer
as the two powerhouse companies attempt to undercut the competition.

AnonD-124913, 18 Mar 2013If its really gorilla glass why screen guards? You can ask that to my Note 2 with a big scratch. Gorilla glass is hopelessly weak. I been using my Z without any special care, only thing i am careful about is to keep it away from drunk people with cigarettes, no scratches yet. These are not the regular plastic protectors you had on Nokia 5800, i dont know what these are made of but they are strong.

By the way, an extra set of protectors were included in the box, but that depends on where in the world you buy the Z.

Have heard that Xperia Z gets heated up pretty quickly. Could anyone please let me know if faced with such circumstances?

AnonD-80084, 18 Mar 2013Hi... I'm a SonyEricsson user. Actually I'm going to buy ... moreviewing angle is bad??? that's depends but for me Z display is beautiful. my cell phone not only Z, but also n9 and iphone 4. i also compare with my friend nexus 4, and S3, Z produces better color and sharpness. nobody cares about viewing angle because most of my friend who didn't have Z agree with me. and hell no people judging Z display is bad only from viewing angle. Only retarded people will be using phone from 0 - 10 degrees

                      Hi...
I'm a SonyEricsson user. Actually I'm going to buy Xperia Z soon.

I just wanted to say something about viewing angles
I have a Xperia Mini Pro and it has Bravia Engine but now I unlocked it and using a custom ROM, the Bravia is gone!
this is what GSMArena says about the display on XMP:
"The display produces really nice colors, has decent contrast but the viewing angles are limited. There's considerable loss of color when viewing at an angle."

I'm using it since almost 2 years now! and I never had problem with viewing angle... even when I share my display to show others some pictures or videos!

I guess the Xperia Z "has" a better screen than my XMP with 192ppi!!!
so... for those who have doubt about the screen... I say: "GO FOR IT"

about the battery life... My XMP with 1200mAh battery.. with a Custom ROM (CM10 JB4.1.2 Unofficial FXP) that eats really my Battery comparing to the original GB rom or Custom ICS ROM, with the Qualcomm Battery saver app, the CM10 (JB4.1.2), with almost 3 to 4 hours screen on! and viber, whatsapp, Y!messenger, 3 emails, musics and many more apps running in background, takes me easily through the day!!! at night I've around 35% left and then I recharge...
so... again I doubt that the XZ battery can do less that that!!!

I'm sure that XZ will last me at least 3 years this time (waiting for a total change of technology then) to change my phone...

I'll get my phone next week...
I'll try to make a decent review here...

                      I can compare it with:
                      1- HTC OneX (my wife's phone) - I love this phone :D
2- Samsung GNote ONE (my friends phone) - the perfect strategy game phone ;) really nice screen... (i have a Galaxy Tab 7.7 (same spec to GNote1 and GNote has Better screen than mine!!!)
3- Samsung GS3 (Other friend's phone and it's always on me when he has a problem with it and when he can understand what to do) - he loves it, but I love HOX better... :D

                      Sorry for my bad English...

Mkg, 18 Mar 2013Just bought the Xperia Z today In the power saving mode (... moreGreat idea to change to iphone5. The iOS optimized battery is a big lie, my frends with iphone5 all have battery problems, it did well in tests but cant handle real life practical use. My Z is easily outlasting ip5, i keep 3.5G data connection active and a goood brightness level on the Z and stamina mode OFF when im out, while on iphone5 they are setting the display to super dim levels and disabling connetions to make them last the night. So go ahead, get ip5 if you want pathetic battery life.

leomeow, 18 Mar 2013Great phone, practical and well designed. Professional look... moreAbout that, i dont find my black Z to have serious fingerprint issues, and i saw a review where a guy was comparing all 3 available colors, and he said MAYBE less fingerprints on the other colors. No need to worry about it, just get the color each and everyone prefer and is available.

Bought this beauty last week, and sold immediately my Galaxy Note 2 (had the white one first and then the titanium gray). Don't get me wrong, I really liked my GNote 2- it was special (it has a Wolfson DAC Codec for audiophiles like me) and it is still (IMO) the ultimate "smart"phone... but the GNote 2 design is boring and bland (nothing special). Though Xperia Z is a bit less smarter than GNote 2, holding the Z in your hand- admiring its sleekness- and the premium build, makes it a better choice. I can live without the bells and whistles of GNote 2, since Xperia Z is still a good smartphone, with all Android Jellybean goodies intact... bye for now- as I am about to do my morning jog in the rain in a while- with my xperia Z tucked inside my gym shorts :)
