I bought this z a coupleof days ago.Good is that visibility in sunlight.Bad is that phone getting heated up in 3g mode,charging and very poor compared to Samsung note.I am switching over to Samsung again.Those who use this phone continuously for more than a month will suffer brain gliOman,head ache and imbalance of pituitary gland damage as the phone emits all its heat and Sar radiation into your head with its proof less glass body,so beware guys,,..,,....

The other thing about built in storage with no sd support is the premium they charge...SD card from 16 to 64 GB here in UK is about 23GBP yet companys charge 200GBP difference between models from a 16GB model to 64GB model,,,a lovely tidy profit for them isn't it...Plus they buy in big,big bulk so they get these memory cards even cheaper makingv more profit..
Yes built in storage with no expandable memory is all based on making more profits...If all your apps are on internal phone memory all you are doing is putting media on external sds card causin NO PROBLEMS for developers whatsoever...Google are saying its security issues and apps to sd is causing this but if all your doing is using sd for mp3;vids/photos whats the problem really???

frOxOr, 10 Mar 2013Unfortunately installing apps on SD card is not possible fr... moreIf thats the case then they are seriously shooting themselves in the foot..What is happening is they are pushing cloud storage on us then make us pay for it yearly..For cloud storage to work YOU NEED A CONNECTION,,here in UK and most of world having an always on fast connection is not going to happen..On my hour journey to work 90% of it has no signal.
Load of rubbish i am 100% for external storage with a nice big onboard memory for apps.I am not saying your comment is rubbish i mean this removal of card slot..As for LG nexus having 16gb max then that is taking the mickey it is now 2013..The Nexus is Googles flagship it should have had 128GB...16gb what an absolute embarrassment LG where are you 2007??

can it play 1080p .MKV video file + subtitle?
i'm drooling to buy this phone but most of my activity is watching video and surfing the internet so i don't want to convert my 1080p .MKV video to play it on my phone...
my existing phone is Galaxy S2 work well with all video format, the reason i want to change it is i want to change it for newer phone model with more capabilites, not lack of existing capabilities in my SGS2.

True the Nexus 4 does not lag but neither does the Xperia Z as it is lag free, I know as I have both phones and been using the Xperia Z exclusively for the last week! The XZ is truly a wonder!!

Spending 4 days with this beast i must say that this is my best smart phone ever. Having the experience S3 and IP5 as well, i must confess that this is more than a class upper than those two.the smoothness is extra ordinary and i didnt notice a single lag. The hardware is powerful, the UI is super beautiful and the battery performs well. Today i charged it 10 hours ago and its about 5 hours that im working with it intensively (surfing the net, downloading and playing games) and now that im writing this comment with it, 45% of its charge is left. For me this is satisfactory. I think this is the best choice right now and im happy with my decision.

Google did it to guarantee best android performance for users, because apps installed on SD card were performing slower than those on internal memory. Also Google is thinking to completely remove SD card support from future android devices.

In real world usage my nexus 4 is much more responsive and screen is nicer.. Although not 1080. Xperia lags and that is the truth

I have the Xperia Z since the 5 march and i must say the phone is overall excellent sound quality is really good the camera and recording with phone is also pretty good and there is nothing wrong with the sreen the the phone is good visible in sunligth which is moore importent then very good viewing angles
