It's all very well to have a phone that is dust/water resistant, but how, after a period of heavy use, will the heat build-up escape.Might it not figuratively speaking, burn a hole in one's pocket.

Just wondering.... Why samsung fans are accessing this page just to bully people who gives positive comments to the phone. I have nothing against samsung mobiles, in fact they're also good in their own way. I can't help but think that they are threatened with the effect that Xperia Z might bring and the other models when they will be released on the market. Im sure samsung will release a new phone that will be better from Xperia Z then a new one will be release by Sony which will catch our attentions again and so on. So that's the cycle of it. Just let the consumers decide what they want. It's up to them to experience what's good or not for them.

                  P.S.
This is a great phone. I'll definitely buy one if this will be available in our country.

AnonD-33318, 02 Feb 2013Smart Stay is useless, huh? Have you ever tried it before m... morei have to agree with you, smart stay works very well. The only problem i had with smartstay is in low light or if i tilt the phone too much away from me when reading at a close distance, the front cam cannotr see my eyes then and the display will start to turn off the screen, but here is a smart thing again, instead of shutting off the screen right away it will first be dimmed, giving you time to touch it to stay on, or tilt the device to allow it to see your eyes if there is enough light in the room. Yeah, its a great feature.

Still, i look forward to get rid of my Note 2 and change to Xperia Z. Samsung is ok but has some serious disadvantages over sony, for example that Samsungs need to be rooted to disable preinstalled bloat, while Sonys/SEs policy has been to let the user have control. Freedom for the user plus Sonys recent developer friendliness is gonna weight heavy for many.

Just pre-ordered it, can't wait for it to come through! The fact Sony threw in the MDR headphones worth £2-300 is a brilliant added bonus.
I am currently using the iPhone 4 and have been thoroughly disappointed by Apple's failure to refresh things with the iPhone 4s and 5. would be extremely surprised to see a major change again this year. meanwhile, Android has upped their game, Nd I'm really looking forward to switching.
The xperia z is beautiful, and is what Sony should have always been aiming for; a premium product. Strange how they never forrayed into the mobile industry as a sole company, as their home media has always been top of the range. I expect them to come back fighting this year, and hopefully for many more years to come!

TMach, 02 Feb 2013And you call those innovative? Seriously? Smart stay is a u... moreSmart Stay is useless, huh? Have you ever tried it before making that conclusion?

I use my Note 2 for reading news where ever I am. I read a lot, and have never had my screen go in to sleep mode when using smart stay.

I used to get annoyed with my S2 and Sonyericsson before that. But not anymore. No need to constantly press the power button to bring the screen back on.

So no, it isn't a useless feature what so ever. Maybe only to those who can't use the feature. Don't be jealous dude. ;)

The Killer, 02 Feb 2013Eye tracing is not a invention from Samsung. Smart stay is... moreI know it's nothing really new, but does any other phone besides the Note 2 and S3 have it? Also, the form of eye tracking as used by the S3 and note 2, are innovative in the sense that you needn't wear a device in order for it to work. And did you know that Samsung also has trademarked the technology?
