Sony Xperia Z1

I live in Mauritius & have my Xperia Z1 for about a year. The only issue is that it still running on android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.I have not yet got any kitkat update. It that normal?

It's been 15 days since I've got mine, and I must say I'm quite pleased with it. I have some background with Android phones, had an HTC Desire Z, Galaxy SII, SIII, Note 2, and now I've got my first Sony after Google's Nexus 5 failed me day 0 out of the box. I must say this phone looks gorgeous, it's one of the best looking phones I've ever saw. The interface Sony uses may not be the best but I think it's far better than the one used in Galaxy series. It's smooth and easy to use, but I miss that big clock widget HTC and Samsung have on their phones. The phone runs everything I throw at it with ease, Even games like Asphalt 8 runs without any problems. By the way, people are complaining about the battery life of this phone, and I must say. Although I used to have around 50% of battery with the Galaxy Note II when I get home around 00:30, The Z1 will usually have 20~30%. BUT I've been using the Z1 more actively than I had used the Note2, so I think battery is not an issue, at least for me. The only real drawbacks are the speaker, which is not very loud (and I have a problem waking up) and the problem with the anti-shatter film which is ridiculously easy to scratch. I ended up buying a protection for the front and back of it. I bought a case as well, but seriously, you don't wanna hide this phone, it's too beautiful :3 I swear, if I had the money I'd get Z2 and Z3, just to have all of them hahaha.

Does it wort... moreThe build quality is very good, screen is good but colors aren't livest. Battery is not quite what you would expect from a 3.000 mah and kit kat doesn't run optimal on z1. Camera is the same as z2, but lacking some sw enhancements. Iso max settings in z2 is higher as i recall.
Battery, with minimal, minimal use can get you to 2 days.
Very waterproof, screen of mine was good not old z panel, which was on first batch maybe.

I'm planning to switch to a Z1 from my old Z.
Does it worth it? I can live with huge bezels as long as build quality is good (that's why I don't want a G2).
Are there any problems with the Z1? Camera unit is I think the same as in Z2, does it heat up as well?
How is battery life? Would it last 2 days with minimal usage?
How is the screen? I heard that some of the Z1's came with the original Z's display panel, is it true? Is there a yelowish tint on the screen really?
I would be happy if some Z1 !owners! shared their thoughts.

Samsung and HTC solid user here but after switching to Sony, my Xperia z1 got the best spot for me. Super fast browsing in the internet, best battery life ever, best camera main and front., best sony exclusive updates, and best physical appearance. Me and my friend switch together and it fulfills our satisfaction :)

After the kitkat update the bugs got worse , camera app is horrible and the phone has got a whole lot slower and buggier . not to mention the overheating .

Excellent Phone
I got this phone one month ago and it works very good wz me..it's easier than the galaxy note 3 (my old phone)..
And i'm not going to buy samsung or apple again.. Only Sonyyyyyyy
