To confirm this can you go into:
1. Settings
2. About phone
3. Diagnostics
4. Test device
5. Ear proximity
Place your thumb across the top bezel. If the phone vibrates that means the proximity sensor works. If not then it's faulty and should probably be taken down to Sony service center.

Smart locked Z1 user here from the Philippines, an update is now available via PCC, :-D this update removes the bloatware from my carrier.

I think that z1 is a ... moreYes. GS4 I9506 have Snapdragon 800.
The only thing I hate about Z1 is the speaker volume.
And, I hate the laggy TouchWiz UI and the absent of FM radio in I9506.
The Oppo Find 7 's spec was good. But it still a China phone that make me scare about the quality and the phone's lifetime.
I wish to have Z2 but it is too expensive. So, I have to choose Z1 or GS4 LTE+ I9506.

Can somebody help me here. When I make a call, and put phone to my ear, my ear when it touches the screen sends tones to the other user so I have to us it on speaker? Anyone know how to get round this???

2. Z1 is metal and glass, ui is more simple and close to vanilla android. Better battery
I think lg g2 has better reception on umts, but z1 is great performer in this regard.
I wanted lg g2 because it has a smaller footprint but when i have saw z1 i knew it is for me.and it is waterproof so no worry if u spill some water on it
My preferences are: z2, htc one m8, s5, z1, note 3, lg g2

z1 phone is the best phone I have ever had. I never buy a samsung phone s4, LG and nothing is as good as z1
