Anonymous, 06 Apr 2014After updating to kitkat, i'm also facing the same low spea... moreIn diagnose the speaker will perform ok. I did it. But sometimes it happens that sound comes from earpiece. Not all the time...probably 1 of 3-4 callings but it is not good, stable.
Looking forward for update, but there are several other issues:
1. Lags in the dialer app, especially after closing a call and other apps are opened randomly
2. Battery life is shorter, especially screen on time is near 2 hours or so, and before was closer to 4 hours
3. Pictures in low light are poor, no hdr for 20 mpx, just for 8 mpx, while samsung, lg does it at full resolution.

        I am from INDIA... I want to buy Sony XPERIA Z1 but
        People say that we cannot install APPLICATIONS in External Memory (say 16GB,32Gb or 64GB) for that
        We can use only the internal memory...!!!
        Is this true...??

          Till then.... go to settings 1-About phone 2-Diagnostics 3-Test device 4-Loud speaker test, ur phn's speakers will start working properly..

                              Im a z1 user here in the philippines... I updated already to kitkat os and it seems everything is well. Its via OTA around 300 mb... Nothingg new except the lock screen design and the notification bar ... I hope i wont experience what you had experience ...

                                    It's not a good phone at all. It's been only three months I'm using Z1. Why does the phone gets switched off while charging? Why is it that sometimes automatically the gets switched off while using? I am not satisfied with this phone. Can anyone answer to my question
