vivek, 21 Mar 2014Don't upgrade to 4.4.2 z1 kitkat...it drains u r battery a ... moreactually after upgrading to kk, I did a factory reset. the phone works perfectly now. no overheating and battery life is at least no par with 4.3, if not better. The camera has some improvement, focusing speed is faster comparing to 4.3. overrall good update. the only thing I found is sometimes cold start of camera app takes longer time.

suhail , 20 Mar 2014Plz explain me how to upgrade my version to kitkat. Plz..plzdownload & install Sony PC Companion in ur PC or laptop.Then connect ur Xperia z1 through usb to pc. The pc companion will detect the smartphone... Then u can check whether the update is available in ur region ...& if yes then it will ask to update...continue with the instructions to install kitkat...after update remove USB & restart....

Don't upgrade to 4.4.2 z1 kitkat...it drains u r battery a lot...even when u r phone is in idle it looses battery charge upto 20-30% battery charge in 1 hour...media server and media apps are running on the background and using upto 80% of the battery even in idle..phone is getting over heated..charging battery time increased from 2 hours to 4hrs...battery draining very fast...very bad update from Sony....hating my phone&sony

So it's confirmed yes the kitkat is out and running on my xperia z1 in india..but does it makes it too much as I am yet to find out a great advancement from the later version..Personally not a real gr8 fan of Sony but with this update feeling a bit more responsive..Jus only a bit but the phone still crashes which is still not a great sign..With hardly nominal usage the flagship fails shame shame shame!!!
