No doubt good phone by design. But worst screen for a premium phone. Bought this phone 2 days back and really feeling sad. How could a company who is working so hard on hardware and camera not paying attention on screen quality and user interface. If not agree just go to videos and watch any video with full HD then you will realise what I am talking about. Just think twice before buying it.

Quite frankly who gives a hoot about a drop test, drop the phones and they all break, period. I have never dropped my phone and once bored always manage to sell my phones as A Grade phones.
Your arguments are juvenile and unworthy of a response as a basic grasp of comprehension seems to be elusive to you. Stop trolling and go get a life. No one is forcing you to buy the phone, go get whatever phone you like and enjoy it instead of trolling internet blogs!

Hi there.. I would just like to clarify something about this device.. This is for all those who own a Z1 (rooted preferably). Is LMT Launcher going to work on a Sony Xperia Z1 if rooted?? I believe that it only requires root so will it work?? Coz I believe that we cannot unlock the bootloader for Z1 and this would probably not work if it also requires that as well.. One more reason I am asking this is because only Sony Xperia T is on the list of possible devices when you go to the LMT Launcher page and I am not sure if it will work if tried on my Z1.. Thanks in advaced!! :D

A phone requiring an second screen protector is insane. Anyway, the proof of the pudding, after all, is in the eating. It was drop tested. The screen did not pass. Dragon Trail, Dinosaur Bone, Space Shuttle Tile, etc., this marketing language makes no difference. Read the article on Android Authority, watch the drop tests, and visit a Sony Store to see a demo model after use (all of which I did); they are in horrible shape.

Well Z1 is awesome. What a camera!!! What a Slimness!!!!!,,,,, but it screen size should hav incresed. Its only 5inch. It doesnt match its cost. Above 40,000 and only 5 inch screen!!!! Nah not so good. Pls make it big if new phone is released. Am i not right guyz?? Pls rply me

Granted you are likely to get it quicker using Sony Companion. Personally, I have downloaded Update Centre to my PC and have never found it a chore.
With regard to inserting and extracting your SIM Card, it is a chore on all phones and I don't find it any more difficult than on my LG G2, Nexus 5 or HTC One. Quite frankly, it is quicker than the S4 and I don't have an issue with that either! Quit trolling and enjoy your own brand of smartphone, assuming you can actually afford one! Cheers.

But afte... moreI am sure you are aware that the screen of the Z1 is made of Dragon Trail which is stronger than Gorilla Glass? The glass is covered with a shatter proof sheet which is what is scratched so any scratches are to the sheet and not the glass.....You might want to go do your home work before posting inane stuff on here!

Hi everybody.
Yesterday I was in a shopping mall. I had the chance to compare a few models and brands with each other. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the screen of this phone. How can a phone in this price have a bad screen. The screen was so faded as if the colors had lost half of its tones. What happend to you SONY? I remember the days when I was proud with my K750 etc. The screen of that days were much better.
Even the standart TFT display of Samsung phones are much better than this display. SONY must reconsider his department of the display. I was really disapponted.

go for z1. i have note 3 and it hangs frequently. it also heats up easily during wifi.
