Please recommend me honestly, I a... moreSamsung Galaxy Alpha: Very sleek device at only 6.7mm which has 4.7 Inches Super AMOLED display giving a fantastic color reproduction & a lovely viewing experience weighing only 115g. It's easliy manageable with one hand. It is a premium device having an aluminium frame. The performance of the phone is as smooth as butter. It is in fact one of the best smartphones that Samsung have offered. The downside is that the device is fixed at 32GB in-built memory and can't be extended further using micro sd card.
Sony Xperia Z1: This phone was once the flagship of the legendary Sony. Though the phone has become old with successors like Z2, Z3 & Z3+ making their presence in the current market, the overall performance of the device is still brilliant. But the phone overwhelmingly weights 170g, which is too much for a 5 Inch Screen. The thickness of the device is still acceptable at 8.5mm. Sony use TFT display which sounds absurd. But the color reproduction is the phone is heightened by Triluminos Display & X-reality engine offered by Sony. But the viewing angle of this phone is not praised. Coming to the looks of the phone, beauty is the only word that can describe this phone which is meticulously crafted in a beautiful aluminium frame on all sides. Coming to music experience, I will say that Sony is at par with Apple.
CONCLUSION: Samsung Alpha is preferred over Sony Z1 if you want a powerful light-weight phone that can be handled comfortably with one hand & if you don't have a problem with the fixed 32GB in-built memory. Otherwise get Xperia Z1 & be Xperia-nced!

confused, 05 Aug 2015should i buy Z1 or should i go for Z2 or should i take a U-... moreZ2 is the upgrade to Z1. Obviously a better choice if it's within your budget. People were and still are complaining about S4 over-heating issue. Z1 is a better choice over Samsung GS4

Dear xperia z1 users
i need to share with you these info
after updating to android 5
i have faced these 2 issues
1-caller announce programs will turn your sound into silent and only solution is removing them
2- call record programs will affect the mic and make the other party receiving the calls hear your voice as if you are speaking in front of a fan and also you have to remove them

Xperia Z1 - is a superb phone, yes it is a bit over weight, but one thing you can assure is that you feel a handful when you carry the phone on the run. it heating a little occasionally is acceptable because since its body is designed with a solid aluminium frame and water proofed, acceptable. I am using it for almost 6 months, It is stylish, no hanging, camera, picture and sound excellent quality.

The display is TFT sadly. But I'm quite surprise to see the beautiful color reproduction on the screen. Of course IPS display is way ahead. The display in Z1 is acceptable which quite satisfies me. Viewing angle is not upto mark when viewed on the sides. But there's no need to view a phone from the sides. But the magic of Triluminos display & X-reality can be seen in this phone. They really improve the quality of the images & viewing experience. Coming to the front camera, it is 2MP. You will get good selfies in bright light but in low light don't expect to get good results. Also, the rear camera which is 20MP should be able to give you good quality photos. Frankly, don't expect too much because the result is not that mind blowing. It captures good photos in bright light, but in low light a photo comes out to be grainy. But I can assuredly tell you that you will not regret spending your money on this beautiful phone. If you are from India, this phone is now priced at Rs. 17499 on AMAZON. This is the best you can get in the current smartphone market. Go for Xperia, be Xperia-nced!

Dear Monil, you dont' have to doubt the power of a once Sony flagship device no matter how old it has become. I have this phone and it's performance is outstanding in every sense. I bought it mainly because of the Walkman & it blows me away everytime I pour the sound in my ears. The phone is meticulously crafted in an aluminium frame on all the sides. It still looks more beautiful than the current flagship phones of some other brands. The only complaint that I have is the weight of the phone. For a 5 Inch phone at 170g, it sure is an over-weight phone. It's heavier than some 5.5 Inch smartphones. It would have been nice if it had been a little lighter. This is not recommended for people who wants to feather-handle a phone. Be prepared to feel the pull of gravity on you hand with this device. But it's not an issue and I can assure that you will not be pulled down because of the weight. You'll get used to it like me. Xperia-nce the power of this beast and get Xperia-nced!

Sony has been known for their outstanding performance in the technological field. Go for sony xperia z1 & you'll get your question answered the day you place your hand on this exquisite smartphone. Though it's quite an old phone now, the performance is still over the top. Good luck!

I am so curious why this phone can't record 4K video or get timeshift video. I've searched that Z1's processor can records and playback the 4K.
