I got Z1 and its amazing device ... Z1 Compact if you prefer normal size phone .. and its battery life just better than z1 ... so its up to you in the end coz not much diff.

guys do you think all te features of z2 like 4k would come on xperia z1 compact or even z1 ?? i own a z1 ...all answers would be welcome..thanx in advance..

Addition: it is possible that the screen type could be PVA-TFT, as this is a Samsung technology, and there is a "S-LCD" alliance between Sony and Samsung.
Interesting note, if this is true, it's possible that the screen on the Xperia Z2 is not a standard IPS, but Samsung's proprietary PLS technology.
Either way, cool screens - cool phones!

The fact remains its a great phone with the latest specs and solid build quality.. only HTC One matches it.

The screen type as i have come to find out is MVA-TFT, which is an alternative technology to IPS.
It allows for much better angles and color reproduction than TN-TFT (which is used in their former Z series phones), fast response times, and arguably the highest contrast ratio of any TFT...including IPS.
A well made screen of any type will be enjoyable, as i see in my Xperia ZR, but a better technology frees up the need for software compensations and/or raises the ceiling on what a device can do. The Z1C has a screen that has been regarded as the best so far (bar Z2) of the Z series, so regardless of the technology implemented, it's still awesome.

Both the amazing sibling flagships of sony are available now at nearby Sone Center..
Cant choose one of them.. Which one will be Value for money..?? Help..

That's the primary reason I got attracted to Z1C. But my point was that the better features in this phone is just not worth the big difference in price compared to others in the same category.
And you can never say that the price is cheap just because you see 45k when you convert your currency to INR. 37k is still damn expensive. It's the most costliest phone among all 4-5 inch phones in India, after Iphone5S.

sup, 25 Feb 2014where is the linkall my media is instantly uploaded to dropbox, I just share the dropbox link, that way recipients get to view the full version.
I find this solution better for sharing with multiple contacts as well,

please be aware. unlike other xperia phones the z1 compact has video rec options at fullhd, hd and mms format....only and does not have vga format as an option ,,,,,,,,
what this means in terms of wattsapp...... to send a video via wattsapp the file size needs to be below 15mb......if you record a video in fullhd or hd even a 10second video will consume more that 15 mb.......mms format is very poor for viewing ...vga format was the only good option as one cld record a 1 minute video for less than 15 mb and send the same via wattsapp and still have reasonable good viewing ....this format is not availabe on z1 compact so you have to take the pain to change the format via some play store app and then send
so sony please add the vga option as wattapp is used more than anything else and without the vga shooting mode we will not be able to send videos via wattsapp
