Anonymous, 16 Feb 2014I am beginning to think there are a lot of people with no i... moreWell,actually I'm disappoited because i wanted to buy this phone,it's the only android phone that i like the design and the UI.I dislike samsung toy like design.But the 8MP samsung camera appears to be better for the moment compared with 20.7MP Z1 compact.Ok they are not all 100% cameras on Z1 compact with problems,but what if i pay the oversized price from may shity markets and hit a phone from those with the flash bleeding problem or one with bad focalization,not to mention that if I'm in a supermarket and someone calls the loudspeaker shows his best quality and i cannot hear it ofcourse.that's why i'm discontented,because the only phone i liked turned out to be a disappointment when it was released!..End still it tends to be overstated!

Of course,in my country all the stores are grey market stores. As well,higher then Z1.Is it suppose to be higher,i think not!But..that's ok,they can keep it!

why is the status on this phone coming soon to india for the past 2 months? seriously sony,u should consider releasing it everywhere before trying to correct problems n shit...please release this mobile soon sony...have been waiting for it like forever

AnonD-227883, 16 Feb 2014FYI I have a Z1 Compact and I do admit I have noticed a few... moreI actually wanted to buy the phone,but in fact i realised that all that made me consider buying it was the marketing campaigne.The phones costs alot and offers some poor quality functionalities.Loudspeaker sound is average,seems camera is out of focus for some of the devices,flash bleeding problems were been reported.People are buying it because it's something new with the latest technology,but it does not work as it should,if they can afford to throw money on it they are lucky,i do not have money to spend on a product that has so many problems.maybe i will end up buying it after a few months after they will fix all the problems and the phone will sell for the right price not a inflated one like it is now and for what?for a phone with soo many problems.I work for my money,i won't throw it away for marketing campaigns just because it's a new product and they made it sound so great!

You will all find out my concerns about the back of the Z1 compact if the phone ever needs service. Sony service center workers just don't want to unglue and pry loose that back plastic panel. Other phones Such as the galaxy note 3 can be serviced by removing 12 screws. You're right, i bought a 5s yesterday instead of the Z1 compact. My heart sunk when my Z1 screen began to shudder as I was showing it off. Sony service tried to fix it with a diagnostics cable but it went bad again within one day and I had to sell it. I would love to own this phone but the old adage applies "fooled once shame on you, fooled twice,shame on me.

What i notice most in pocket is the length of the phone, not the width. Short phones like Xperia Mini are awesome for pocketability, even if its very thick and not very narrow. Xperia U is much slimmer and same wide but considerably longer, and therefor much easier to notice in the pocket. iPhone is way too long for its display size, and when you sit there and wait for iTunes to finish you will regret.
sounds like Xperia SX was the phone for you, unfortunately it was NTT DoCoMo exclusive and has no successor.

There are no smaller sized phones on market than ~66 mm width, for me it is too wide. The only right size was Experia Ray, which I still use as there ar no decent successor in that dimension. For this reason I am starting to ponder transition to iPhone

The Z1 Compact feels premium just like its big brother and I tend to use my camera in Manual mode and it is excellent. Not sure there is any point replying to the haters! In terms of build and feel, the quality excels compared to Samsung and I am not a Samsung hater, they also make excellent phones! Just wish the haters will get a life!

Sweden and Norway are very similar, both the market and the carriers, some of the carriers are present in both countries under different names.
However, i think this is only temporary, also in Japan, soon iphone 5s will be back in the top spot, being Android the Z1C will age fast and become irrelevant, hope Z2 Compact isnt too far away, full HD with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage will be the minimum requirement in Q3.

philboy, 16 Feb 2014you don't know either whether its back is plastic or glass ... moreFYI I have a Z1 Compact and I do admit I have noticed a few oddities about the back, but honestly I couldn't care less if the back was glass or plastic, as long as it's quality glass or plastic and doesn't deteriorate easily. And Sony has a reputation for robust quality products, that's why I chose them over Samsung. Also other comments down here about how horrid the camera is. Unless you're a pro photographer, how would you know?! It's purely subjective, BUT many are basing their opinion on a single review's samples. Why not check out sample photos of the Z1C's camera on other sites? And more than that, what right do you people have to trash the phone and recommend potential buyers to keep away from this and wait for something else to arrive from Sony? To say the Z1 Compact's build quality is poor is like saying that Swiss Army knives rust fast (okay not the best example, but you get my point).
PS: there's a reason why the Z1C is outselling the iPhone in Japan and Sweden.

Why would you want to remove the back? The S4 does not need a hairdryer just unclip the back, so your point is what exactly? As the dude below says, you were never going to buy it so your views, and hating, are irrelevant. Still the best compact smartphone around!
