I advice skipping Z1 Compact and wait for Z2 Compact. The main reason is the shatterproof sheet on the display, it gets scratched and is impossible to keep clean, smartphone displays must be bare tempered glass with oleophobic coating, stays clean all by itself and is much more comfortable to use. Just do not underestimate the fingerprint problem of Sonys shatterproof sheets, its bad, can be ok for a while but eventually you will have to admit that its a major problem.
Stereo front speakers of Z2 and Z2 Compact fixes another longstanding problem with Xperia phones, low volume is annoying in many situations. If you need a good compact phone while you wait for Z2 Compact you can get a BlackBerry Z10 for only 12,990 pesos.

base on actual using of z1 compact, the screen, speed and performance is very good the minor problem is after you take a photo. when you zoom the photo it became dim.. maybe if kitkat update will fix this!!!!!

The 1st z1 compact had no sound, now I have another and it seems to be burning I mean really hot all the time im not even using it! Anyone else have this problem?

i have used sony xperia z1 compact at SM MOA here in the philippines and im very dissapointed with the front camera because the whenever I take selfie photos, its very saturated and very noisy when zoomed even if it was taken on a well-lighted room while the back camera photos was so pale. .i didn't expect it would be that horrible. .I was thinking though if it was only lacking the software update (kitkat) .

iqadi, 18 May 2014How about the main issue with this unit? The flash bleed as... morenot all units have flash bleed problem.. maybe it was a factory issue with the first batch of phones that was distributed.. and most have fixed the issue with clean kitkat update 757 build

After carefully reading almost all the comments, some encouraging, others extremely harsh, i decided to give this phone a try. My last thoughts and conclusions: i will never ever again base a purchase decision on reading reviews, specially from regular users. I almost passed on there phone, specially due to the negative comments on screen resolution, camera, and sound quality. I own several phones, included and iphone 5s, nexus, samsung, etc. This phone has an excellent.screen, absolutelly gorgeous. Side by side with the iphone, it is marginally brighter, and colors as just as.good. Camera is phenomenal, and speaker, although not.the loudesst, it is very appropriate. Im glad i didnt hear ppls complaints, this phone is definitelly a keeper if you can get it for $500 or less, not the outrageous launch price.

why buy android over ios? Aside from customization. I'm about to buy a phone and I can't decide which. Not a fan of Giant phones.

I am confused between Z1 Comp... moresamsung is too common, too many gimmicks, buggy touchwiz. my sister has tab 3, she always complained about the buggy ui and low battery life of samsung same problem with my ex who had s3 and my brother who has galaxy pocket.. now they all envy my sony xperia phone... it us up to you if you want plastic samsung...
