This is the worst phone I have had in 24 years of cell phone experience. The call quality is terrible. For such a expensive high end phone, you would think they would have a the basics covered. Been in for repairs 4 times. Even got a new mother board. It is still crap. Caller can hardly hear you. The is a echo. When the caller speaks, they can hear themselves but not you. What a joke!
Search for the bad reviews.

Is the self-cracking screen a very common issue with this phone and what is the chance to get a faulty Z2? Also, how can this be prevented? Will putting a screen protector change anything? Thank you.

But am afraid about the rumors... moreIt depends on the usage, every smatphone heats on excessive usage it's not only with Z2, as far as self cracking issues are concerned haven't faced any till date so you can go ahead with your decision, buy the Z2 & relish the features like long battery life, good camera, premium design with stereo speakers & great speed.

The Sony was nice but when I tried the Tigon from Lion Universe I was very impressed.

But am afraid about the rumors... moreI got one and even if it overheats from time to time, its impressive battery life (a whole day or more, depending on your usage time) worth getting one. It is also quite fast so I strongly recommend you to get one ;)

In fact I don't even like Samsung phone cause they r too bloated with features that I won't use. Heart rate monitor? Hardly anybody will be using it like air gesture. The ram is 2gb and made of plastic materials. But i definitely agree with u on the camera S5 got better camera than Z2. The pictures comes better but Z2 got a better camera sensor than S5. So I am sure in future updates sony will fix camera software integration. S5 is slower than Z2 it is because Samsung bloated with apps n gimmicky stuffs. Both r great phone n they have advantages n disadvantages, it depends on the user n personal choice

Z2's has lower processor speed(2.3 GHz) while S5 has higher(2.5 GHz).
S5 has high-end 0.3s phase detection autofocus technology while Z2 has backward contrast detection.
S5 has fingerprint and heart rate sensor but Z2 has no.
S5 has IR blaster but Z2 has no.
S5's screen has better colour accuracy and higher sunlight legibility.
You are forgetting that S5 is IP67 dust and water resistant.
S5 has awesome ultra power saving mode so there is no issue of battery life.
S5 has better image and video camera quality than Z2,read Gsmarena's comparitive review between Z2 and S5.
S5 has more features-packed Touchwiz.
