Alfah, 01 Sep 2014using 2.5 A will not damage the battery?Never charged from 0% so hard to tell, and usually at night, so I could not be very precise about it given I never timed it, but it was around 3 hours. Could have been less than that.
As said I've never charged with original charger so no idea about that.
And for damaging battery - it might shorten its life by a few %, although I think that the regulators in the phone would adjust current to the battery so that it should not really affect it at all.
If you're concerned, use a lower current charger. Anything from 0.5A to 2.5A should work fine, just time of charging would differ. Don't try VOOC charger though - that one could burn your phone.

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2014I think, you may not have Z2 or s5:)
Do you know s5 has po... moreI do not see where the troll is. All I said was that Z2 is not perfect, but nothing ever is. For anyone considering buying it, they should know both good and bad parts of it, so they can check whether they can live with the bad ones or not, and as such make a purchase decision. These premium phones do have premium prices, so many people come here to learn what to be careful of before parting with their hard earned cash.
I do gadget reviews and as such a lot of stuff passes my hands, and I end up buying off many of these "demo" models, as I get them for peanuts. Z2 and S5 were part of my arsenal that I kept.
And I believe I have mentioned many times that I prefer Z2 over S5 in nearly every aspect, as well as writing that I would not dare to get S5 wet after seeing how the back was sealed.
I do believe that Sony could do a better job at sealing Z2, though.

darkraver, 31 Aug 2014Android phones have best software no matter what others try... moreIt is true that Android devices compensate for non-optimised OS by raw power of the hardware, but the OS is getting more and more optimised "under the hood" as well, like the significant speed increase you could see on same hardware when moving from Jelly Bean to Kit Kat.
The unfortunate bit of Android World, however, is that they will now try to differentiate themselves by the speed and resolution. So expect next generation of flagship phones come with 1440p screens, which is a major drain on battery for literally 0 advantage over 1080p screens.
I wish more focus was placed on autonomy heat reduction, rather than pure numbers race… Kinda like having a 40 megapixel compact cameras…

AnonD-300234, 31 Aug 2014So would u suggest z2 or iPhone 6, if iPhone 6 comes with t... moreiPhone and Z2 have very different ecosystems and are not directly comparable.
You would need to write down the pros and cons of both of them, where iOS has some advantage on privacy (where you can limit apps from sniffing around your phone), which Android's many apps, and nearly all free apps directly spy around your phone, even sifting through your confidential data.
On the other hand, Android phones mostly allow you to slide in an SD card to expand storage, and give huge customisation options, along with support for native files (meaning you can load video or music file into the phone and watch them directly without having to convert them to phone's format first, and load with iTunes).
Also most Android phones have some sort of standard resolution screen, like HD or FullHD… which allows you to watch movies full screen as they are ripped from Bluray or downloaded from the internet sites. iPhone 6 will come with yet another stupid screen resolution that will require resizing everything to fit the screen, by that causing blur and/or artifacts.
It is good to see Apple finally increased screen size, but while that would make reading websites and email, etc. better, it will upset people who want a pocket sized phone. Which 4.7" is not really.
I am one of those people who had every Apple's iPhone from the original one to 5s. And a whole series of other phones, Android and Windows ones. And I can tell you that like with many of my friends, iPhone is getting more and more idle time.
It used to be way ahead Android up to about iPhone 4. Then other manufacturers and Google with their OS started catching up on it, and I think vastly exceeded their offerings compared to what Apple does.
I still happily use MacOS X, and like it a lot more than Windows, believing Apple's decisions were far better than Microsoft's. But in mobile business I think even if you go with iPhone 6, you will switch camp not long after, and join many of us former iPhone lovers.
The value that iPhone represented in the past is simply no longer there. Really only bits that keep it afloat are premium branding, less sniffing at your personal data by third party apps, and more optimised software for the hardware (obviously Apple makes both hardware and software and can make optimisations that Google, which needs to support a huge variety of hardware could not).
So my vote goes towards Sony.
