Ive had my Z2 for about 4 months now, and its been perfection! I had a Nexus4 before which was great, but this is just another level of quality and performance. Sony has won a customer.

The pen is actually a lot less useful than you would make yourself believe in the shop. That's how I ended up with Note 2 and Note 3.
Now one thing that you'll hate about Note 3 - it is region locked. Yes, it means that you can only insert the SIM from region where you bought it. And this is not some telecom locking the phone down, this is Samsung doing it.
Also there are at least 3 different versions of it with very different specs, and very different performance, although they all look metal/leather lookalike plastic toys.
Another thing - if there's anything magnetic around the screen, that pen won't work properly anyway. Explain this to the idiots who make the flip covers…
So in a choice of these 2, as the owner of both, I'd say get both of them in your hand and give them a test drive. But from personal experience - Z2 is much more joy to use, despite not being my favourite yanking accessory.
If you're an artist and really want the pen… well, then get Note 3 :)

That would only leave SD card flap to worry about, which isn't open anywhere near as often as charging flap…
I know a Z2 wireless charging cover was introduced then pulled by Sony, but I really hope the Z3 has this built under the skin. It does make a huge difference.

I won't say it's the best cam out there because it is not. It does have very smooth video recording, and produces some very good 4K videos. Photos are good if you're not expecting it to look like Nikon D800E. There are more capable shooters out there, though.
Don't worry about that 10 minute limit on 4K videos. You would not keep taping for 10 minutes straight, would you? You take 20-30 second clips, then edit them together, or at most a few min.
Overall, a good product, better built than many competitors, but like all other products, has some shortcomings as well.
Most are thanks to Sony marketing building too high expectations.
Go to a mobile shop, get your hands on one and give it a shot.

Just dropped my Z2 while taking out from my shirt's pocket, slipped out of my hand & fell flat on the floor facing the back glass, luckily i had the back glass protection film which was full of scratches after the incident but nothing apart from that noting on the edges so it's better to have some protection on the back. I really had my heart in my mouth as my phone's just 10 days old & i hate any scratches on phones.

i've been reading lately concern about the flaps over the internet. was planning to have one of these but again the flaps when charging you get to open them every now and then it is possible the rubber part which suppose to seal may wear out. maybe is a flaw in the design who knows. k800 solid as a rock, xperia go its a way to go, acro s its super and it has the letter s. xperia z2 better convince me at z3 =)

very happy with camera played my boyfriends z2 phone very good daylight camera superior to other leading brands very fast focusing.
But dismayed with waterproof i only washed it in the faucet with flaps close of course. fog on the lens could this be factory defect so warranty can cover it? it says waterproof on the market.

Slayer, 25 Aug 2014Water proof means all flaps closed before taking it into wa... morei have same situation here. of course the flaps are closed who would take pictures the water with flaps open? any way again, went also to the pool took 6 pictures 5 inches deep submerged less than 10 minutes went back to the shed. "THE FLAPS ARE CLOSED" for those who would try to say "maybe the flaps are open". going back to story, fog on the lens so went to sony center and guess what my warranty is void. the white thingy went red for some reason. WATERPROOF ya right.

som, 25 Aug 2014last day my s5 dropped from my hand n now its not working p... moredefinitely, the Z2 is better than S5 but i cannot say it is more durable. as the glass panel in both sides are not gonna survive if u drop it 2/3 times.

frankly speaking, i'm tired of the same design of SONY. They should at least change the design in a way which will help us differentiate the Z, Z!,Z2 or Z3 when we see that in the hands of people. SONY is just trying to be the same sarcastic as Samsung. Same design, same material,same glass panel in both sides which is not scratch resistant rather prone. They should at least see the OPPO or OnePlusOne that how they are making a premium phone with durable materials...

AnonD-298509, 26 Aug 2014How is the camera?Camera is simply great, I had an S4 before this which was a 13 MP shooter but even Z2's 8MP camera beats the crap out of S4's 13MP (although it's a 20.7MP shooter but you have to downgrade it to 8MP to use the additional camera features) "Superior Auto" mode is the best to click photos in any conditions, even in low lights then you also have "AR Effect" which is fun to use.

Now this is what i call a perfect phone, it's really awesome, blazing fast, glorious screen, superb camera (superior auto does wonders even in low light) beautiful design, great call quality and above all massive battery, Z2 is worth every single penny.
