Actually th... moreI don't like the camera to be like that too. That's because they are getting desperate on trying to keep their devices slim by not sacrificing image quality. Bad move indeed.
They should do what motorola did by making the backside curved imo. And sony has to make their devices fatter by a few mm for quality.
I like z series too, but the speakers ridiculous low loudness and cyber-shot lack is what keeps me from getting a smartphone. z4 will might have the new sony sensor that is able to capture fast moving objects (ie cyber-shot hybrid) and amplifiers behind the speakers. If they indeed do that then i'll buy it.. high hopes for them to listen.

Although instagram shots are weaker than xperias 21mpx manual shots, I guess because it is calibrated to iphones 8mpx, it is originally IOS app afterall

Actually their smartphone division earned some mill $ more than last year, their loss was due to net loss, merging the mobile sector and cause of closing the Vaio revenue...
But they are doing good cause they produce quality...
Btw w995 has Cybershot tech which was the best mobile camera tech in the age, dunno why Sony doesnt bring it back to Z Xperias. Must be because it requires more space, but Sony is now trying to perfect its Xperia slim camera tech.
Anyways I am perfectly happy with camera quality as it is now in Xperia Z series, hope they improve it even more with that wideangle lens in Z4, and personally would never buy a phone with protrudin camera on the back like iphone, samsung or lumias, cause I find that a serious design flaw ( would rather buy a thicker phone than one with a bulge on the back)
Would personally LOVE Sonys Cybershot tech to come back, but...not gonna happen, so believe Sony will vastly improve on camera tech it recently uses ;-)

Sony Xperia Z3 is the best smartphone...
To avoid all issues you need to use it clever...
Dont put it in direct sunlight - be careful & dont drop it very often - dont root it & shoot 4k videos up to 5 minutes ( in cold temperature you can shoot 10 minutes or long )
And because battery is not replaceable - dont use it when charging...

darkraver, 08 Feb 2015Well I ve tested both too, and iphone shot is great just as... moreI would love to show you camera stills of my w995, which has a big camera sensor (the reason it's a little fat device) and the same picture taken with z3's manual, 20mp.
If you then put the photos in pc and photoshop, you'll see that w995 takes better pictures because it has a moded software. changing the picture dimensions to 20mp (z3's picture dimensions) you'll notice that z3 takes only a little sharper pictures because it has 20mp camera and not 8.
But change the picture dimensions of the 20mp photo to 8, and then you'll see that even w995 (a 5 year old phone) takes a little better, more vibrant pictures. (because it has a bigger camera sensor and yes, a moded camera software too).
What I mean is that software behind z3's camera that needs a serious upgrade.
And sony needs to make their devices a few mm fatter, so a bigger camera sensor can fit in the device, as well as a bigger speaker.

The camera software can be altered and of course drastically improved with a few tweaks, but this requires some pc knowledge and smartphone software. I don't have a smartphone yet. Next year I will get my 1st smartphone ever, sony z4 (maybe).
So I have no idea about instagram but I suppose it's a camera software, if this is true what's the point? Compare the original softwares and then pick your favourite.
z3's camera and sound can be greatly improved, guaranteed!
I moded my w995 and it's now much better in terms of audio and camera quality.
If somebody can do that on a closed a2 phone, then he certainly can do that on a smartphone.
But, it's wont be original anymore. It'll be moded..
It's sony that has to update the software behind their phones and not me, in order to fully exploit the device's capabilities. But sony doesn't do that.. heading to bankruptcy is their thing I suppose.
While mid range phone makers like apple and motorola see their sales breaking records.
Sony is still my favourite.. even though their customer support is crup and their workers lazy as hell. They HAVE what it takes to get back on their feet but, bankruptcy is their thing..

About the 20mpx comment....you must be mixing up postprocess pixel contrast level and detail level...
Tell you what: use instagram to shoot on both iphone6 and z1c and see the difference. You could not be more wrong ;-)

The Sony Z3 camera is a failure because of the 20mp and a tiny sensor, which is a huge mismatch causing blurred photos. Google it and you will learn the truth.
But, I do understand your need to justify your expensive Sony investment ;-)

even superior auto 8 mpx on z1c makes better... moreIve tested both devices and the picture detail on z3 is just OK. Not good at all since sony brags so much about the 20mp sensor, they forgot it's tiny.. how on earth a tiny 20mp sensor is gonna exploit the full detail available in an 20mp snap?
iphone 6 actually manages to capture beautiful pictures. And it uses the full 8mp of it's sensor. put the same picture side by side taken by both phones, the difference isn't great.
Maybe z3 has 20mp, but the camera sensor is tiny, making the 20mp seem like a waste because of the ridiculous amount of blur in the 20mp shots.

Press and hold simultaneously power+volume up+volume down till restrart. Had this problem once in late december.

Can anyone tell me, whether the phone is just heating or overheating within half an hour while using this handset. (Example) using of 3G, Music or video's playing times. How much time it takes for heat? and until how many minutes we can using the phone for not overheating and safe to avoid for bad impact on phone?...Please give me clear answer in details...thanks

And the battery lasts for a day and a half. So i think the Z3 it's much better.
