I have owned the device, charging the battery is taking around 4 hours using the PC USB cable, from power source taking around 3 hours and a half.
Really long time to recharge the battery which harldy loasts for one day!

For those who're complaining about the back glass getting easily scratched simply put a back glass protector & things will be fine, it's not a great issue.

All phones containing the newest SoC like 801 or 805 heat up to a same level...but having a plastic or wooden back only means all that heat cannot dissapate outwards and instead keeps more of that heat inside and transduces more to front screen panel, so logically more likely to make damage to internals, especially the battery, the screen and main board...
I d rather have my phones back a bit hot, than having fried pixels on my screen, my battery life getting worse, or my main board having fried.... ;-)

Upgrading to Z3 will be the best thing you could ever do to yourself. Upgrade my friend, you wont havr any regrets...especially battery life and display. The display in Z1 is very poor

Gavs, 15 Nov 2014I going to buy z3, but heard that phone gets hot sometimes,... moreYes, the phone gets quite hot especially while playing games and using the camera. Its because of the glass back. Even when I keep it in the pocket and walk out in the afternoon sun, I can feel my phone heat up! Also, Snapdragon 800/801 series are inefficient in recording 4K videos. Lucky, I'm still under 14-day return policy. It is a beautiful looking phone with an amazing display (i'd dare to say better than iPhone 6 plus too!). Also, I've been an iPhone user for 5 years, many folks use iMessages and facetime and I carry my iPhone 5 around with me all the time because of this. The Z3's camera is definitely better than my iPhone 5 but not by a large margin. Also, there are rumors that Z4 may launch in CES 15. If Sony manages to overcome heating issues by removing that glass back, I guess this will be the best android phone. Sony's keyboard has been the best stock android keyboard and its a bliss to type on! However, i'll stick to my iPhone 5 for now. Looking forward to 2015 to find an Android of my liking!

AnonD-324989, 15 Nov 2014I want to know your opinion - Sony Xperia Z3 or iPhone 6 Plus ?In my opinion the z3 is way better than the iPhone 6 Plus. 1.z3 is water and dustproof.
2.z3 has better 20.7 mp camera vs only 8 on the iPhone.
3.z3 has 0.3 inches smaller display and is thicker than the iPhone and it doesnt feel like you will drop it.
4.More RAM memory
5.z3 is way faster than iphone 6 plus

Go for Z3. Z3 is waterproof and dustproof, 20.7 MP camera, stereo speakers, double tap to wake, smart call handling and much more for me to explain. The iphone 6 plus does not have these features. The z3 is also cheaper than the z3 so the iphone is over priced actually but its still an awesome phone!
