today i checked out the z3c in a nearby store and seriously guys it's a great phone, the build quality literally shines through... I mean it was WAY more compact than What i expected for the screen size and feels feather light... The display is good... You wouldn't undermine the display unless you previously own a high ppi device or have really really good sight at close range... The device was snappy fast, although expected from the SoC... It feel really good in hands. I'm dying to get Mine soon... And eagerly waiting for a water test... Anyway those people who are willing to talk about the phone should really hold it once to feel the build quality... You can't get It right just from seeing it... As i misjudged... Even after holding it and testing it out, if you don't like it then Its not your fault... It just means it takes a hell of a lot to impress you...

A couple users on reddit who look genuine gave it rave reviews today:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2i0g8o/z3_compact_is_by_far_the_best_phone_i_have_owned/
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2hx0m7/to_those_on_the_fence_about_the_xperia_z3_compact/
However, one user commented that the screen, understandably, isn't quite up to the standard set by the flagship handsets.
Also worth noting, if you unlock the bootloader, it screws up low light image taking...

So, yeah, it looks pretty good all in all, esp. if you don't plan on rooting and romming (which this probably isn't the best phone for anyway as it would probably break Playstation controller support and other Sony specific stuff)

AnonD-70078, 01 Oct 2014Gsmarena actually rated the audio output as very good. And... moreSpeaker volume is deliberately low, and also the headset volume, they are hysteric about hearing damages among kids and youth in Sweden, and Sony phones are for a large part developed there in Lund, that used to be the headquarter for Sony Ericsson Mobile and is now fully owned by Sony.
Wish someone would tell those guys that hearing damages are self healing, its only those who live in a CONSTANT noisy environment that develops hearing loss, or in some cases with extreme noise (like helicopter pilots of old times before active noisecancelling headsets were available, usually not so much hearing loss but some developed a constant noisy sound that they would hear all the time that overshadowed other sounds).

Hayalet, 02 Oct 2014I did some research. For now you have to unlock your bootlo... moreResearch si a word darkraver dont know, he only throws out things he hear and see in youtube, uncritical relay of half true information. Well, that is how it is to not have a clue, lucky most people are smart enough to not take his word for it.
I agree that unlocking is unacceptable, phones should work right out of the box. I went to the Sony store yesterday to check out Z3 and Z3c to see if the Whats New app really cannot be disabled without compromising the phones but they didnt yet have it and the salesgirl i talked to didnt know all the new things in 4.4.4 as well.
She did however tell me that Z2 bends and that they have been instructed to tell all customers that phones that size must not be carried in a pocket, pocket damages will not be honored by Sony warranty. Z1 Compact however was supposedly OK to carry in a pocket, for now at least, but if Z3c is as weak as the drop test says it is then Sony may decide that pocketing is illegal also for Z3c.

Got a question guys, how much RAM does the Z3 compact use by default, like when you just get it, and you haven't installed your own apps.

Hayalet, 02 Oct 2014I did some research. For now you have to unlock your bootlo... moreHave you tried e-root?
Anyway buy yourself this phone...
I guess you need more space for games, no other reason...
Luckily for me I'm not that much into games...
But you have an option until proper rooting method comes
In settings, backup your apps with all data and stats to SD card...keep only games you play most on internal...(I have 7 big games on my 16gb Z1C)
Whenever you want to get back games from SD card just reinstall them...

The Z3 Compact seems really nice with ideal form factor for me. Too bad the phone doesn't have larger internal storage options, which is a deal breaker.
I prefer large internal storage to expandable options. Well, It'd be nice if both were present though. I hope..
