To the people all excited about the 801 vs 800 SoC, yawn. Until they announce a 64 bit SoC all I hear is blah blah blah.
For me the appeal for upgrading from the Z1c comes down to simply: 1) improved camera with support for 4K video and 2) 128 GB SD card support. I don't think you can realistically take much 4K video without massive internal storage. I am very interested in learning more about the quality of the 4K video.

AnonD-255692, 06 Sep 2014Not much different from my Z1 Compact specially because my ... moreUmm 4k video on the Z1c? As a Z1c owner, I cam confirm this is not true. One of the differences btw the two is the Z3c sports 4k video.

The z3c is not meant to make all the z1c owners to buy it. Is meant to make as many as possible NOT z1c owners to buy it.
So if more z1c owners wanna QQ about how much of a upgrade it is, then this is not the place.
For me personally i would give the extra bucks to buy the z3c instead of a lower priced (after price drop) z1c.

AnonD-209094, 08 Sep 2014What you call a great phone HAS to be seen relative to its ... moreHaha minimum 1080p on such a small screen? What you have microscopes planted in your eyes? 720p is just perfect for 4.6" screen. More pixels will only waste processing and battery power. Thankfully there are still many people who are not spec fetishists, and know what's practical.

Taking a look at the specs, this is like the perfect phone (minus the software, well... cyanogenmod might take care of that).
Taking a look at the price, yikes, no thanks!

AnonD-209094, 08 Sep 2014So the Z1c needed better chipset, it was too slow and under... moreI didn't say that Z3c is perfect, I'm just saying it's better than Z1c, also i too agree that Z3c should've come with 3GB of ram(I may just wait till a better speced phone arrives on that matter)
for that "Z1c didn't needed a better chipset" I don't own the company, but when you think about it like one, if you don't upgrade your phone then a customer will definitely choose other brand phone just because the specs were outdated for mere weeks... thats a loss for the company... now i don't agree that they should release a phone every now and then with a single brick upgrade but i'm saying i understand why they do that... i'm not supporting them mind you.
also you are just saying Z1c is better than Z3c because Z1 almost = Z1c and Z3c =! Z3.... i beg to differ...
z1c is not high end than Z3c forgive me but it's not....
i too like the high ppi of Z1c they shouldn't have reduce it like that in z3c.... ppi does matter... IT DOES Sony

AnonD-209094, 08 Sep 2014What you call a great phone HAS to be seen relative to its ... moreI didn't say that z3c is fairly priced, it's over priced for that specs...
its company's wish what they wanna do with their products, they may feel like the world has many rich people that can buy their product for high price(the phone is not out yet, commercially atleast), then drop the price for thier loyal customers... i'm not saying that its the truth but i'm just saying its what i think(no comebacks on this please i don't like to argue, i meant no disrespect)
also you cannot compare a newly upcoming companies product to a company that earned the trust of their customers though years of relationship with quality products(Sony's products are highly priced i know... i don't buy their products i'm not their fanboy)
Mi3 doesn't have IP ratings or very convenient(not reliable, very different) customer support... and may be many things i don't know and don't care... you cannot compare two company products unless they are exactly the same even the release date, company policies may apply to suck the deep pockets first... JK
and yes i would've loved to see the 3GB and 1080p, it's just that when we don't have what we want we have to adjust a little right? PRICES WILL GET DOWN IN FUTURE....
ii'm just saying many people will buy phones for entirely different reasons, some may prefer IP68 to 1080... just saying that if someone is interested to buy this phone and see that it's getting poor ratings because people consider not a good phone because of fairly lite upgrades.... it feels wrong.....

I personally like the black fascia of the Z1 compact in the other color versions. It makes them look compact and chic. Sony's decision to carry over the white color over to the bezels makes the phone look decidedly downmarket than it is, and definitely not flagship grade!

BK, 08 Sep 2014I know many consider this not much of an upgrade to xz1c bu... moreWhat you call a great phone HAS to be seen relative to its specs and contemporary offerings. Fact is that Z3c price is almost exactly 3 times higher than Mi3. Great? Naa...
For me a great phone today is HTC One M7, 4.7 inch was so perfect for 1080p, just that the rest of the phone was weird in too many ways.
You cant blame people for wanting much more for 500 Euro, you simply cant. 3GB and 1080p (or 900p) are minimum requirements here. But im not ruling out that i one day will buy a Z3c....

BK, 08 Sep 2014I know many consider this not much of an upgrade to xz1c bu... moreSo the Z1c needed better chipset, it was too slow and underwhelming? NOT!
You said it yourself, you were disappointed that it wasnt S805, your criteria isnt about real life experience but only about the spec sheet. Now how about spec upgrades that are visible in daily life, like higher resolution and more RAM? hey, Z1c didnt downgrade the RAM of Z1, yet Z3c does downgrade from Z3, thats a downgrade that Z1c didnt have. So, Z1c was higher end than Z3c is. No doubt.

I know many consider this not much of an upgrade to xz1c but come on, please make an effort to read before posting as many will believe your words and miss a great phone...
you people will consider not much of an upgrade from 800 to 801 Soc... it's not just 800+1=801...
the Soc is very different than you think...
the Cpu cores are clocked higher from 2.25 to 2.45 GHz
the Gpu(yes) is clocked from 450 to 578 Mhz
the Memory bandwidth from 800 to 933 Mhz
the ISP (Image Signal Processor) from 320 to 465 Mhz
Also the 801 is better optimised than 800 meaning it uses less battery power = longer battery life
a lot more changes to Z1c like ISO 12800(damn), IP68, glass back panel with flash moved farther to avoid flash bleeds like Z1c(plastic back culprit), 2800 mAh battery, mainly stereo speakers that too front facing...
PS4 REMOTE PLAY COMPATIBILITY(yes it's that important of a feature(main selling point cause Sony may not port the ability to it's predecessors))
It's price is a little high but it'll will get down after those who can afford the price buy the product and the company gets the expected profits... something like that...
I was frustrated when they didn't used the 805 Soc... if you ask me why use 805 in such small phone then... the world is changing very fast and the flagship today will be outdated tomorrow, so doesn't hurt to future proof a phone along with water proof, right?
Although i would've liked the 1080 on this I can understand why they didn't... just imagine if they did, then they have to use 3GB of ram and with such a high ppi the Z3c will be the flagship not the Z3 that will implicate badly on the company for poor implementation(just my opinion not a statement) also i saw the leaks said 1080 then the announced version was 720... maybe a last min change to save battery life... as 1080 chucks more power like a wood chipper prohibiting them from achieving the 2 day battery life(2 days, like thats gonna happen)
Personally though i would've liked to see a 4.5" with 3 Gb ram and 2800 mAh battery also a better notification light like the ZR(it doesn't matter much but come on seriously who wouldn't like that, i know i would)

But hey, for a certain price i may consider Z3c if i have to get a new phone. However i am concerned about Sonys lineup, last years upper midrange offering is GONE, now we get the choice between lower midrange and an overpriced underwhelming "flagship". Where is the Xperia Sp successor!! THERES A BIG GAPING HOLE IN THE MODEL LINEUP!
