Hey, bit late.... but I have had this phone for over 2 years and its probably the best phone I have had. I did smash the back in my first few days though (got it replaced quickly) so make sure you get a cover for it. Photos and videos are good quality, I'm overdue an upgrade now but struggling to let it go :o) Definitely worth buying...

Gloves mode really helps for now.I have had the phone for 4 years, I am not a constantly heavy user but I work in a Plate Rolling Mill and there is a lot of dust. I bought the phone because of battery and waterproof and dust-proof. It has been OK but I have dropped it several times very badly and after the 5th bad drop this year the front screen opened a little in the top corner and waterproof was lost. I have been very happy with the phone overall, it has met all my requirements at the time of buying and in the later years. My phone has very descent battery life for its 4th year but the unresponsive touchscreen means that I need a new phone...

Within 2 weeks the back cracked on it's own then within a month the screen cracked and lost touch.
I made a composite rear cover and replaced the screen. This is the last repair.

This is the most crackable phone ever. So far I have bought 2 phones and 3 screen replacement.
The perfomance is excellent but the above super black spot is important to consider before buy it.

Good phone when it works.
Too fragile because of being in a glass sandwich.
The rubber charging port cover breaks off very easily.
One area of the touchscreen was unresponsive after the tempered glass screen protector broke without being dropped. Luckily it came right after a week.
Now the speaker during phone calls has gone so soft that you can hardly hear the conversation. Support app says all is OK.
Better think twice about buying a Sony if this is the type of qualify they put out.

The nano sim fingernail tray is one of the dumbest designs ever.
Sloppy fit and hard to replace. Usually Xperias are pretty good phones.
Also a bit fragile.

Hi guys, I just bought a new Xperia Z3 compact, it still has the native android 4.4.4, I am hesitant to update the software as I have read some issues that came out the update. I have a question if any of you guys had this in your phone, I performed service test and found compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor and proximity switch not working, will these problems be solved if i update to marshmallow? Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Totally unhappy and the worst Sony mobile I ever had. I purchased it in January 2016 in Brazil, on the average price of USD 700 (our local market price). After 8 months the headphone jack started to get bad contact, getting just mono indeed of stereo. This may be overcome by positioning my Philips SHQ4200 (for running/workout purpose) plug against my arm when carrying it in the arm strap, since I use it weekly to run outside. That said, after 14 months the top/upper touchscreen start to get problems of sensitiveness. So after warranty and a lot of research and formating, using Xperia Companion, nothing worked. I had to add an application to get shortcut to the notification and use Glove Mode ON to use the phone touchscreen. And after 18 months suddenly, my GPS stop working, so I could not use Google Maps and Sport Tracking. Shame... And the touchscreen get worst and worst... the bottom faded in one month later. Add another application to solve it (a shortcut). The touchscreen starts to fade in the middle too... Watching Youtube, searching on Google and answering Facebook/WhatsApp was so terrible since the keypad gets totally "lost"! You type one button and the other one is typed. Also the corner buttons (forward, down, were useless).I researched on eBay the following OEM spare parts: touchscreen, battery, back panel, front and rear glue stick, side enclosure and GPS aerial. All for around USD 150 plus 2 to 3 hours of mine time to replace everything... Sudden I found new units of this smartphone on eBay for just USD 100 to USD 180!!! (ok, have to pay 60% for local Customs). I know why: even it is a reasonable/good phone (small, fast processing, acceptable camera, waterproof), IT HAS ONLY ONE YEAR OF LIFE. Problems start after that time... That´s why nobody wants this phone. Check Sony Support for "Sony z3 compact xperia back and home button not working". more than 46 pages of questions and complainings and no solution, support. Check the words up/down, notification, pull down, menu, back... and you will get other 32, 6, etcetera pages of complainings with no solution... Sony, never more!!! (note: I used Sony/SonyEricsson cellphones since 2002, they was: SonyEricsson T220, Sony Ericsson T637, Sony Xperia X10 mini, Sony Xperia L or C2105, Sony Xperia SP (died after I was caught running over a strong raining day) or C5302, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact or D8303... )
