The magnetic port to charge the ... moreI sold my S6 Edge for a Z3 then not long ago i bought a Z3 Compact.Always used the magnetic charger for my Z3.NO PROBLEMS.NO EXPLOSION or whatever.
Battery lasts longer than S6 Edge.Lasts longer than iPhone 6 Plus.Lasts long enough to read all the comments in the Z3 section.
And tell me how have i wasted money?

Some users experiences this because of wrong position of charging and using cheap magnetic cables while some repost that they experienced this issue even they do not have z3c just like the cracking issue I noticed that all the picture that has crack z3c is the same phone pictured in different angles and posted by different users. It is good that I am vigilant and did not believe in those trolls. I am enjoying my 6 month old z3c with none of these issues.

Don't waste your money!!!
The magnetic port to charge the phone will take off the phone after few times of use and sony will not refund your money.

I had been using my Z3c (d5803) for almost a year. Overall its a great phone, no scratches or cracks for me (I use ringke cover, and no issue with signal or touch screen like others had mentioned. The battery life is superb and the audio sound is perfect (not too loud or too small). I love this phone and I hope that sony will make the z5 compact with 4.8" screen, good battery life, great camera, and offer in emerald green color.

Very well made except for the fact that samsung fanboys always include "going back to samsung" in the end. Well there is no one experiencing the same issue. If you are using your phone while swimming or bathing it is normal for it to occur because water droplets will touch the screen but on normal use there is no reason for that problem to occur. Go back to samsung. By the way sony is updating their z, z1, z2,z3, and even the old midrager and lowend devices to android 5.1 I wonder what happened to galaxy s3, s4, and s5

I just owned my 2nd sony xperia z3 compact after having a major issue about sudden death on the other one. After 2 weeks of usage the screen suddenly got some kinda buggy, I CANT TOUCH THE MID SCREEN!! I found this problem when I was typing a message. I was confused why my phone didnt want to type what i wanted to type! After activating the developer options I switch on the 'show touches' option then BUMMM!! It turned out that when i touch the mid screen and swiped vertically,there are 2 pointers being clicked at the same time. So when i wanna type 'c' it always type both 'x' and 'v'. How frustrating! I didnt know what happened cuz a few minutes before the error ocurred the phone was totally fine. I really regret purchasing this stupid device, it's only been 2 weeks. Even my z ultra lasted longer. Damn it! I'm switching back to Samsung.

I have had this phone 7 months but had to replace it after dropping it(from a very low height)cracked and didnt work at all.So disappointed i had to get a smash roof screen protector(which should be sold with the phone imo) because this really is a great phone, although sometimes a bit annoying and not user friendly it has great camera and video quality,overall class and stylish 9/10.

I'm considering a new phone, and the most important things are:
- that it's below 135 mm tall
- that it would stand the test of time for the next 2 years (considering specs and updates)
Choices that come to mind are:
1) Z3 Compact
2) Galaxy Alpha
Which one would you suggest and why?

Andrew435, 01 Jun 2015z3c is the most fragile phone ever used in my life##serious... moreMeanwhile, I am enjoying my naked z3c with no crack nor sratches. It survived a 3 feet fall in a clay tile. Not sure why your device did not survive in a 3 inch bump. It is either it has a small crack before and when you bump it on the table the crack progressed or you are a troll who thinks that someone would believe that this device and even other smartphone would crack due to that mini drop.

z3c is the most fragile phone ever used in my life##seriously what was sony thinking about going on with installing the same glass design at the back..##my black glass on my z3c cracked when i droped it on the table...it was not a drop ...just placed it like 3inch drop (u know what i mean)..& later when i picked it i came to notice the back glass was cracked near the camera and it looks ugly!!
why would sony make a phone which cant even take a small beating?? my previous phone was xperia M - i used it roughly all the time & even droped it many times ONLY FACED VERY FEW MINOR SCRATCHES . considering this z3c to be a flagship device, this is the worst quality phone !!NOT HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE - i wonder why there is not even a single proper drop test of z3c on you tube...

Been using this baby for almost a year. Great phone altogether and worth mentioning it is the only phone of this size that has that much power and stamina. After the upgrade to Lollipop, the UI got a fresh look and battery still holding 2 days of heavy use. Lollipop also fixed a few annoyances in 4.4.4.
I have been using it without a case and dropped it a couple of times. I use it in water and dusty conditions often. Screen had a tiny meany scratch, back glass got a few scratches. It would seem the back glass isn't as scratch resistant as the front. Otherwise, nothing else.
I do my charging through a magnetic docking station. Buying a dock is a must for this phone as the flappy usb cover is not practical to use at every charge.
Pictures I have taken with it come out great and all subjects have appreciated the quality of the pictures specially in dark environments such as bars or clubs. It will compete handily with any S6 / iPhones on everyday pictures. I didn't do a detailed examination of the quality but I'm guessing the Z3c is behind the competition when you start zooming in. The camera button is a great and makes you wonder why other phones don't do the same.
If you are looking for small and powerful, you can't really go wrong with this; and there ain't much choices out there anyway.

I don't have a compact it's just a z3 always had sony this is 6 and a half months old and my speaker seems to of gone I can't hear I have to put every call on loud speaker it went whilst on the phone,called sony they've said its probably an app problem?I don't as told followed there link that was sent wiped everything back to factory settings and still can't hear a thing,will be calling them again Monday morning but really hope it's still under warranty,has anyone else had this problem?

Update from my previous post a few weeks ago. My device is still 100 percent smooth and scratch free. Still I did not put any screen protector or any other protective stuff. Well I enjoy my z3c naked but it tends to be slippery sometimes. I drop the phone about 2 times already. I could say the built quality is superb. I never understood why some complain about self cracking and easily scratched back. I lived in the Philippines by the way so, everyday my phone undergo different stress such as dusts and high temperature but it did not crack or scratch. My only complain is that since upgarding it to lollipop the battery life cannot last a whole day. Hope they would fix this in the next update. Highly recommended smartphone.

I have been an xperia user for 4 years now. And my xperia mini pro is still doing good. It has already fallen countlessly and has never been damaged. Sony is really very good when in comes to quality. I want to have a phone upgrade. And i think z3c comes with good quality as well.
