I bought the phone last week and i am really happy with it, previously owned a galaxy s3 and this one is way better for me, display and photos are slighty worse (colour wise) but otherwise i have nothing to complain about, battery is fabulous and there is no noticeable lag or frame rate drop like i experienced with my old phone. Sometimes when opening an application right after closing another one might take half a second more and the frame rate might slighty drop (noticeable to the trained eye) but that's about it, i prefer cute little games like leo's fortune so i didn't try any intensive games but i doubt a device with flagship specs will have any issues. On day two i've noticed a small crack over the front camera, i am unsure wether it was cracked or not when i got the phone and i didn't drop the phone either, it isn't visible in any way when taking photos though. I am afraid it might expand over an impact but that remains to be seen. I've got the black one, it has a premium feel and i have to say that sony did well to go with solid translucent plastic on the sides, it has a really nice look in the light and it should do better at impacts too but keep in mind that the glass on front and back will always be full of fingerprints, it doesn't bother me but it is certaninly something good to know before going for this phone.

And I have always found the front facing cameras to look fuzzy compared to the actual pictures taken on mobile devices.

i bought Z3 compact last evening & having trouble with the front facing camera since then. I get tiny dots when frint camera is on looks fuzzy. however, it takes a perfect picture (dots dont appear in pix). Is it normal. I am quite upset & worried...

I then upgrade to iphone 5s which I love, always wanted one since release. Missed android so took out a contract on this z3c it's another faster with no lag, seems to handle tasks a lot better than the s4. The camera is good but yet I feel sony could of done a lot more. As for the screen being 720 HD not 1020 this is no problem for a 4.6 inch screen as you will not see pixels on the device and it performs better for the battery and processor. It's easy to use one handed plus water and dust resistant. I also run it through benchmark tests and it alway scores really high in most cases scoring higher than s5, htc one m8, LG G2 and G3, even it's bigger brother z3. For a compact phone there is none that can match.

ali, 16 Apr 2015If you go for iphone 6 or 5s then it is better than z3 compact.Well that's your personal opinion. Some would say samsung s6 or htc one m9 would be the top phones in the market. I own both a iphone 5s and sony z3c and yes the iphone is a great phone I will not argue with you iphone has the most professional ios out there. But I don't think I could live without android it is the best entertainment package in a device the ios can be messy but does a lot more than apples ios regarding entertainment and the accessories cost a fraction of the price of the Apple competition. I would say to anyone do not go for anyone else's opinion when it comes to phones there are just to many to choose from. Always be aware of fanboys because they might persuade you to be stuck with a device you may not like for 2 years. But my personal opinion on the z3c is sony have made a real top device to beat and with the new lollipop update which has made the device faster and smoother the phone keeps growing on me. I made the correct choice for me.

i was used s4 mini, and till now all my phones were samsung.
From Tuesday im a proudly owner of z3 compact.
Sony is the best phone i ever use. Simple, clear, usefull, and for me two best options are batery life and default email client.

Right, to the point.
Owned this phone for about 3 months now, and I can honestly say there has been nothing wrong with it. Still in one piece, no scratches, cracks or anything. Apps have been working well and no hiccups with the OS either.
Many of you still need to realize it is a phone/computer with lots of delicate tech in them. You don't go dropping your PC/laptop/TV either and then run to the internet comment section and complain how bad the product is just cause you mishandled it.
I'm sure some of the problems do exist, there's problems with every phone model, nothing is perfect. But the amount of bashing on this specific phone is just ridiculous.

I got this phone in December 2014 from a Sony Store. I choose this phone due to the fact that it seemed to be the only decent sized phone (i.e. not "a pocket-size TV") with a fast processor, a very long battery life and not tied to Apple's monopoly.
Battery charge is fabulous: I can go almost 4 days between charges with moderate use and unused app shutdown. Data transfer is fast, especially on LTE networks.
Now the bad:
The call quality is quite poor: cracking noise, voices sound metallic, unnatural. If the noise cancellation feature is active there will be a lot discontinuities in the call, sometimes making your party impossible to understand.
The volume is quite low in both: earpiece and speaker.
The camera (actually both cameras) are something you should not count on: photos are not sharp in spite of the advertised high-pixel-count sensors. In movie mode the camera cannot find the right focus: it simply keeps trying and trying and trying... I also went by the store and ask for the sale people help on this issue. I got the same behavior no matter what they did.
Bluetooth is actually funny, if you have enough sense of humor: if the phone is on a flat surface, facing up it seems to work fine. If the phone is in your pocket or facing down on the same flat surface the voice command will not work: you will only hear half of the Google message asking you to say the contact name. After this: total silence. No matter how many times you try and how close you are to the phone. Once you flip the phone face-up on a flat surface Bluetooth starts working again. Basically, useless. Did Sony imagine we are going to use the Bluetooth on a flat table?!
The phone came with Kit Kat. I did not dare to update to Lollipop yet.
Final advice: stick to a well known brand. I will do so next time.

Hey I have the Z3 compact and after it got the Lollipop the earphones don't play anything, I used the same it came with the box, th MH410c and I tested with other earphones and nothing... Please help me... What do I do? 'Cause I need to use it with the earphones to drive and to work...

Peice of shit! My partner has had it repaced twice already due to functions not working and also so easy to smash! Definatly not good for a traidy!
