I dont know why ppl keep complaining abt Sony phones. I have been using Xperia phones for 5 yrs now. Xperia neo, xperia ray, xperia p, xperia z and now xperia z3 compact. I have never had any issues with the phones. Except that in the z3c the flags were a lil loose. I got it replaced. Excellent phone. No cracking issues or any other issue. Been 4 months now.

Im not in the habit of dropping my tech, so i should be ok, right?! Never been so nervous owning a phone in my life! :/

Mine is in a case and I haven't dropped it yet, but it is NOT laggy at all... I tested waterproofing, after doing a pressure sensor test, and it also holds pretty good...
The only thing I have against this phone is that the camera is not the best in Auto mode, you have to tweak manual to get the best results, however it has no competitors once you learn to use it.

AnonD-362591, 11 Feb 2015So many good reviews about this phone. Am thinking to get o... moreOh yeah, and about lag/hang issue, nope, so far so good, but I believe different ppl have different standard, like some might consider a few occasional frame drops is laggy while some doesn't, my experience is just about the same as you saw the GSMarena reviewer navigating the phone in their hands-on video. But screen is indeed a bit too sensitive sometimes, went into dialing emergency call when I put it in my pocket and received an SMS/Any Text, experienced 3 times so far, hope Lolipop will fix that.

Played Asphalt 8 for 5+ hours with default screen brightness + WiFi on + 3G/4G off, from ~88% -> ~46%
Played Clash of Clan for 9+ hours with default screen brightness + WiFi off + 3G/4G on, from ~92% -> ~41%
Turn on WiFi hotspot for 8+ hours with only my tablet connected + screen off + 3G/4G on, from ~86% -> ~34%
According to my battery monitor apps (GSam battery monitor), my average battery life per complete charge is 1D_8.5h with 11h_7m screen on.
My highest recorded phone temperature by GSam is ~42C (achieved by heavy gaming), average is about ~34C
Don't expect crazy battery life from this phone, heavy users would still end up need to charge it daily, but compare it to most of the phones on market at the moment, it is simply awesome.

Waited for years for a sensibly sized premium phone and finally bought one of these. Nice enough, BUT:
1. The screen glass is ridiculously feeble. Mine suffered a gentle drop and smashed completely. Luckily I managed to talk my mobile phone operator into replacing it for free;
2. It's surprisingly laggy. I look enviously at people whizzing through screens and apps on Samsungs and iPhones and wonder why I'm not getting the same. Perhaps Lollipop will fix that

So many good reviews about this phone. Am thinking to get one but I wonder how well does it perform on heavy gaming? Like more than 8 hours or so. Does the battery drains fast or does the phone over heats? Lag or hang experiences on games? Anyone?

Everyone is getting Lollipop updates except Sony...The software support is to slow..really dessapointed. On the other hand the device is excellent. Fantastic battery backup, perfect camera on daylight, very good stereo speakers, powerfull CPU, great design, very handy, a lovable feel in hand, saved my life by working with this device in heavy rain. Can wait to get lollipop, but Sony lates to much, as i said

darkraver, 07 Feb 2015Actually, sony recieved only accolades for its design and b... moreFirst of all this is sub 5 inch phone to correct you . Secondly I have nothing against sony , in fact 8 out of 10 gadgets I have are made by sony .
Thirdly being critical of the brand I love shows how much I like the company and things it makes.
And z3 compact is problably the perfect phone from my point of view but for the things that I already mentioned that I don't like for a simple reason that primary function of a phone is to make calls and thats where the problem is when you hold a phone in your hand and talk for a long time it has to feel comfortable in the hand and thats why the position of buttons is wrong.
I am not trying to prove anything here . Its just my personal opinion .
you can do the test yourself. Make a phone call for one hour with s4 mini and z3 compact and tell me which one was easier in you hand after 1 hour !
