Well I am on way home but system updates is showing an update of 1279.5MB download so this must be Nougat. Will get home and over wifi download it and see what happens. Anyhow what does Nougat really bring to table? My security patch is 1st Nov 2016.
Had this since about May last year and been brilliant longest had a device.Have tried others along the way but it is phone sized, robust, powerfull, got a lanyard hole, proper shutter button, colourful screen, good battery, good cam, good video and can handle noisy concerts and just no problems.
I am bored with it is only problem but unless I can get another smallish phone with features above then it can't be beat. Though of buying white Z5C as a change maybe but defo wanting new phone.Tried HTC 10,S6,S7 lots others but still big phones and tried Blackberry Priv which was excellent but to big and ached my hand it was so wide.
MWC soon so lets see if anything smallish powerful and different pops up but I don't hold my breath.

I upgraded from the Z1c to the Z5c. My wife upgraded from the Z1c to the Z3 because she prefers the larger form factor. I upgraded from the Z1c to the Z5c because I wanted 4K video. I have been using the Z5c for nearly a year, and I can say that the usage experiences for both my wife and me have been excellent.
I don't keep my phone in a case. Instead, I use a tempered glass screen cover and a similar plastic guard for the back. Not only does it look sleeker than a fugly case, I don't experience heating problems. I have shot tons of 4K videos, some as long as 30 minutes and all to my 128 GB microSD. The only time I ever had a problem was last summer at a waterpark trying to make a video on a 95+ deg day with the sun shining directly on the phone. Since my phone is black it quickly got too hot and shut down. Did I miss the moment? Yes, there wasn't any shade to be found and considering the conditions I wasn't overly surprised.
I play all the latest games smoothly like Asphalt 8 and Simcity Buildit.
The camera in manual mode is great. While it is the IMX 230 23 MP sensor, I have set it 8 MP (4:3) as Sony has optimized the sensor to oversample the image for superior performance at that setting versus 23 MP (4:3). If you don't believe me, try it for yourself. There is actually more detail in the 8 MP setting. Shooting in manual mode and taking the time to properly set the ISO, white balance, and exposure guarantees excellent photos every time.
Sony still supports the Z5c and has promised to roll out Nougat sometime soon.
People who moan or complain have no taste when it comes to phones and just follow the trend.

I have owned the z1, z3, z5 compacts and I have to say at this point I am looking at a different brand because the complete lack of longevity on any of these phones has been more than frustrating. Z1 wasn't waterproof and had battery/heat issues. Z3 had durability problems as well as battery/heat issues. The Z5's camera stopped working after 6 months! And also ...drumroll... heat/battery issues! Call me crazy but if I spend over $500 on a phone I want it to last me more than a few months and not need to be charged at lunchtime. All in all I'm tired of having novel, shiny, gimmicky phones that can't even come close to enduring a normal life. Just so disappointing.
