Mkubwa , 19 Aug 2016I really feel encouraged by some comments while others are ... moreZ3+ was one of the biggest failures in the Z series, Z2, Z3 and Z5 have been really good. If you want to buy a complete smartphone which has great battery life, no overheating issues and stunning camera go for the xperia X, if you want bigger screen then go for Z5 premium. Both X and Z5 premium are classic phones from Sony.

Hey guys, looking for some advice. I'm really torn between this and the standard Z5. I currently own a Z2 and was dreaming of owning a 5.5" Z-series smartphone, and I guess I had my wish answered; this is it. The things that are holding me back on getting this, is that, first, is the audio jack issue, is it really a common problem on this device? Next is the battery life, does the standard Z5 really last longer than this one, despite the minor increase in display size and the larger battery, considering it outputs 1080p most of the time and considering the smaller battery of the standard Z5? Why is the video playback runtime short? Does it automatically upscale videos that you can't play them on their native resolution? Next, which color should I consider? Stuck with either the chrome or black, but was leaning more towards the black. The chrome is too luxurious to handle. I might consider the chrome because this is probably (unless a reboot is decided) the last of the Z-series; i.e. a legacy device. And other questions, is the chrome finish on the back easily scratched? The sides when you remove a case, can it easily scratch them? The sides, do cases, if ever, chip the paint off like the paint was just placed on top the material, or is the material made up of that color? From my experience in my Z2, cases did not chip the paint off.
Just some "OCD" or "perfectionist" questions here because I plan not to replace the phone in the next 3-4 years. I'm really careful with my things, and that's me. Not unlike some who replace theirs almost every new release.
Thanks. Answers would highly be appreciated.

The chrome color appears awesome. I have happily used other Sony's flagship phones except Z3+ and now Z5. Kindly advise whether I go straight for the Z5 premium or I drift back to Z3+. There's indeed something special about flagship Sony's compared to their midrange. I feel I want to stick to these high end great machines even if at times they cost an arm and leg.

I have been using this phone from last 2 months not have a single issue . The only thing i noticed which is not as accurate as it has been advertise is the camera focus 0.003 seconds camera shutter speed and what they advertise clear 5X zoom . Dont whether its a software issue or whatever however Zooming is improved alot but this is not exactly with a quality which is advertised. I compare the zooming quality with samsung S6 and S6 wins in zooming .
Apart from that speed , Display , Design and battery timing is awesome even camera is outstanding but SONY has to take step to compete with samsung in camera quality and features .
SONY Z5P ROCK !!!!!!

Sony cut the cost of the phone by manufacturing their own screen instead of using Gorilla Glass. After months of living with the phone, I could say that the screen is as good as the Gorilla Glass if not better. My phone slipped twice already from the top of my shower heater, which is about 2 meters tall, and dropped to the tiled floor. The screen of the phone is still in pristine condition. Also, take note that I don't use any screen protector or tempered glass.

The title tells the answer.
You could use it to break every iceberg. It does resist a bit of water.
But it can be used as a sponge too.

The image sensor, iMX300, is a 25 MégaPixel multi-aspect sensor. 5984×4140 Pixels.
But Nokia's two monster camera phones, Lumia 1020, and 808PureView, and the Lumia 1030, that never came, are multi aspect too.
They all have a hidden, major, common weakness:
They'all have no full-resolution capture mode. A full resolution capture would bring a picture with black corners. That's, where the field of view of the lens reaches it's limitations. No problem for power-users!
Such an image would allow extracting all aspect ratios from one picture.
Did nobody think of this before? Such an useful feature, which maxes out the actual capabilities of the camera, could actually be delivered with a software-update! And some some third-party apps always hit problems with multi-aspectation. That's why the Google camera maxes out at 4096×2160. That's 256:135 DCi4K. With a full-resolution capture mode this could be patched too‼
