FYI, for the clarity of phone call voice & camera, I really find it as a Perfect performance. For the loudness of sound, it has a clear audio that sounds unlike some imitation china phone that creates a loud broken sound. I'm not telling you guys to buy this phone immediately, search first for my details before your grab for your own sake. But for me this is sufficient enough for my everyday use as my hi-end smart phone. Thanks

my xepria zl does learn IR and works flawlessly also i don't seem to notice the battery issue with last update most people state, however, i do have a friend with the battery issue;
on this matter, i encourage everyone to post there so sony takes this issue seriously, they are known for making great devices, and even when i have no issue we should tell sony to acknowledge this issue, also i would like to add to this the lack of barometer functionality on c6205

The IR not learning problem is apparently annoying multiple Xperia ZL users. The related thread at the Sony support forum unfortunately is marked as solved, although no proof of a solution has been spotted yet.
As Sony's local Service Centers seem to be unaware of the functionality, let alone have a fix for the problem, I am trying to escalate this issue to Sony, in the hopes of a proper fix.
In this light, I would like to request anyone having issues with IR not learning signals properly to post in the thread at http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/Xperia-ZL-IR-Blaster-doesn-t-seem-to-work-with-Remote-Control/td-p/309479/page/8 and help make Sony aware of this problem. With strength in numbers, we'll get this fixed.

One thing before I Use Iphone 4S i have Sony Xperia P (color red), but accidentally happen that when I bought 1 data sim to put on on my mobile the salesman change the data sim inside and he accidentally broke the simcard slot connection, in that case I was so upset. That's why I know the real performance of Sony Xperia Phones. Good Luck to you and I'll hope you share what your experience once you get you own Sony Xperia ZL. Thanks

Apple brand is for pleasure
Samsung brand is for fashion & trending,
And Sony is for useful and money worth it, I'm using now Sony Xperia ZL and I'm contented and happy to use it. My previous phone was Iphone 4S very nice & smooth to use but I got a little bored because of some limited apps to use. And then I shift to Samsung Galaxy S4, i expect a good speed but most of the time lag comes out and heating problem is an issue specially when I used it for internet calling and games apps. After that I sell my S4 and shift again to Sony Xperia ZL it is fashionable, very good performance, and mostly elegant look. I've got everything I want from a smartphone thru Sony Xperia ZL, Walkman apps for a high class music, Mobile Bravia Engine 2 for a high class movie watching, Exmor HDR Camera for a perfect camera performance, and lastly a perfect high quality display on a smartphone. All Sony is money worth it and I'll prove it. Thanks

Lalai, 23 Sep 2013I got xz first but didn't like it cause it's hard to mainta... moreYea! Same thoughts as you mate. Thanks! The glass panel is finger prints prone. May have to wipe the Xperia Z quite frequently and it cost S$100 more than Xperia ZL. Performance wise, both Z & ZL seems on par. Major differences is the design. But I'll still go for Xperia ZL then!

I will have to wipe it every now and then. Another thing, zl is having advantage when it comes to camera because of its dedicated camererase button. Zl is more handy.

I'm definitely getting a Sony device in october. I'm getting bored of Samsung. Samsung device are becoming too mainstream in Singapore. Just thinking between ZL or Z. How's the battery life though? And is it a good device for occasional gaming?
