my xperia zl has screen flickering, i have update it to new software but i think the flickering become terrible and if i activate the backlight its more flikering, but no lag anymore please help me does it because of firmware or my phone broken? my phone never drop

Hai ZL owner..
I buy this phone about a week ago. My problem is after i charging full 100% and i play candy crush saga or other games about 20 minutes, the battery is 92% remaining and back cover become hot. Is this normal or my phone problem? I think the battery drain too fast. TQ.

New firmware updates are now available for the Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL. Both new ROMs bring similar improvements over the system, signal and touch sensitivity, bug fixes and are still based on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
There is no official change log on the updates, but some users have already compiled a list of all the notable changes.

Home launcher is smoother, no more lag
Update Center has new UI
3G Signal strength improved
Improved touch response
Faster sleep and wake
Low-light image quality improved
Changes in car mode app
High resolution image snapping while recording a non-HDR video

Our tipster mentions unusual heating when running the AnTuTu benchmark, but there's no confirmation of that from other sources.
The updates are available both over-the-air and via the Sony PC companion.

I m planning to buy this phone. But as I m spending 35K on it, I want it to last longer.
Just wanted to ask the ZL owners abt the protection of d screen. I know its scratch resistant, but still m scared to take a risk! So I may prefer using a scratch guard! But then they say that you wont get to experience the best quality screen of the phone if u use a scratch guard (coz of the pixelating of the scratch guard!). :/ What do u think ahould be done to keep it safe and still be able to experience the best quality!!

Anonymous, 01 Aug 2013Charging your phone overnight will damage the battery it is... moreyou are right, at first you let it drain completely 1 or 2 times only, and when you charge it, what you do yo connect it to a timer see how long approximately it takes to charge then it shuts it off, Battery will last 1 0r 2 more years, they usually sell the kits to open phone at E bay for $7. buck and new battery for about 9 or 10$.

battery makers have some issues regarding battery life and battery usage vs battery care and battery endurance, so first of all i have had other 2 xperia phones for about 3 years, they are both usually plugged and they have the same battery life they had when new, sometimes i get more battery time, sometimes i get less, for my experience this doesn't really affect the battery.
on the other side, duracell and varta advice their lithium-ion batteries with a limited charging times of about 1000 to 10000 times depending on the battery, if you look at your phone's battery it is a lithium battery so one would think this applies to it, however, some lithium-ion battery models from duracell and varta do not have that charging times warning, as if no matter how many times your battery is charged it will last the same (about 10 years or more).
now, if we go to the source, which is what really matters to us here, this is what SONY states about the battery and phone usage:

and it is explicit: "
The following tips can help you improve battery performance:
Charge your device often. This will not affect the lifetime of the battery."
so with this in mind it can point to the Li+ type battery which by contrast last longer when NOT completely discharged, and fully discharging the battery will increase the degradation rate, thus making it last shorter, ergo: "keep your battery charged"
