... moremmm, this is a hard question, at first i was going to answer with your my opinion in a very subjective way, then 3 friends just showed up, we would just write what we thought of it on a paper and then we would all see, i know this doesn't make up a great test but is the best i can do.
Loudness of the speaker: normal, i mean it does kind of sound more loud than most, but is not that great of a deal
X-loud ON, sound pureness/quality: ok here we had some issues, i mean we all wrote something different, first of the treble seems to be greatly enhanced affecting it on low quality recordings (low bit-rate mp3s tend to sound worst and give that old radio feeling), the bass sounds better not minding the recording quality, there seems to be a "tape" feeling on some songs when the x-loud is on (that kind of "zzzzz" white noise you used to get on old cassettes, this was only said by one person we put some files after she said that but we couldn't notice that or any noise, she insist on it tho so im putting it here).
X-Loud OFF, sound pureness/quality: we all agree sound quality for a small speaker is good, however one of us is a silly apple fanboy and he kept saying iphone speaker is better, we only had one file to test it in booth devices, only he kept his opinion the rest didn't, i will leave him the benefit that it wasn't a loseless format, but all in all the speaker does a really good job.
please keep in mind that i made this with Symphonic music and an anime video in mkv with dts/flac audio, the music was in both mp3 and flac format, i hope this helps =P

AnonD-111105, 23 May 2013hiii everyone....i want to buy a new smartphone....confused... moredepends on what you really want in a smartphone, your choices are quite nice, the HTC one is a good phone, has a very good camera app and the camera itself is nice, the screen even when is not HD does have very nice colors and viewing angles, may i note that the chipset on the HTC is more powerful than the one on xperia Z/ZL however it lacks micro-SD slot (no memory expansion); on the optimus, well that is good choice too, however i don't know which one you are referring to, since there are like 3 different optimus G, one of them doesn't have micro-SD slot, there is an issues however, as with most LG phones people tend to complain about updates and support, and the camera isn't very attractive, also the screen on 2 of these G is not HD (however it is good); now on to why i chose the ZL, first, there was no Z here so i had to stick with it since i was pretty annoyed by my 3 year old phone, for me the micro-SD card is too important, also the updates, the size (it is a small phone for an HD display), i am very well used to xperia interface, i really dislike samsung's, but most importantly, because i like sony's phones, on the opposite side, i wouldn't recommend it for people who like sturdy looks, the phone is well made and all, but has that stylish sony look (for me this is a +), that many people tend to mistake for delicate; the screen while being HD has a poor viewing angle (this again for me is a + since i love privacy, and rarely show my stuff to anyone), the front camera is placed down, not up (i wouldn't count it as a+ but i find it funny and unique how you look on it), it is not water resist, that was the main reason i wanted the Z, sadly i could not get one.
i hope this helps you make a choice please keep in mind that you should take the phone that you feel more comfortable with.

How is the loudness of the speaker and sound pureness and quality with both xloud on or off, is the volume loudness really average. If xloud on does it really damage the pureness and clarity.

AnonD-127760, 22 May 2013already done with the procedure you mention, but then same ... moremm i saw a post on XDA that the C6503 gives people faster connections, if you can "unbrand" without void warranty i would consider doing it so, as in try the un-branded C6503 firmware(stock android) and see if it helps, if not, then go back to whatever your stock android is, and re-update, then try out warranty, or something, also saw some people with connection issues after update, witching firmwares and thus fixing the issue; by the way the issue with mine was fixed today, i received an mms from my carrier informing me about re-installing the internet settings, so i did the procedure and is now working like a charm, so i would also advice you to try contact your carrier, it may sound absurd since the phone was working before, but since it just happened to me i don't see why not try.
good luck with your phone, hope you fix your issue and be able to enjoy it as i do.
very happy with it "so far" =P

Anonymous, 22 May 2013ok your reply as mentioned before; after the update i encou... morealready done with the procedure you mention, but then same problem occurs, i was not able to connect to LTE signal even there was a strong LTE signal. I already tried 2 different carrier but only H/H+ is the best connection I got..anyway thanks for the info, I'm planning on resetting my ZL to factory default to determine where's exactly the problem is.

AnonD-127760, 19 May 2013after upgrading my ZL to 10.1.1.A.1.253 (Build version) I w... moreok your reply as mentioned before; after the update i encountered issues on the data connection too, it does connect, but is too slow, like if i was using edge, you should try this: go to settings>wirless "more">mobile networks>Access Point Names, and there reset it to default, restart your phone (either turning it off, or pressing the reset button), once its back on again, check you have NOTHING on the access point names thingy(if you do then reset to default again), then, go to: settings>xperia>internet settings it will download the connections settings to whatever your carrier is, after it tell you it finished installing/downloading the settings restart the phone again; if done correctly you should be able to connect with no issues, if not, check that you deleted the info you had on access point names.
hope this works and you be able to use your new phone

Anonymous, 20 May 2013I think the person that did the review on z and s4 is fake ... morethat is a very personal opinion, i also have the ZL, i most clear up that i never wanted the ZL, i wanted the Z, i am so far happy with the phone, someone else wrote about LTE connectivity, i also have connectivity issues after the update, actually the connection became slower but it works (will reply you in a few), the screen is actually quite nice, i got a few movies and anime on it and it rivals my Y580 (a laptop/notebook with an 1080p screen), to the point that i really care for my phone now, it is pretty responsive, and the battery is average, on the gaming side the phone does its work nicely, on the camera side, the stock app is brilliant for day pictures, but no so much for night, instead you can always try other apps and yes you will get nice museum or night pictures with different apps, also you can use it as a remote controller for old TVs (it has an IR thingy) so its quite funny to be able to change the channel on those places where you are "not" supposed to touch the tv, so yes it is a good phone, i really wanted the Z but i am happy with the ZL even when somehow i envy the Z users, i believe that you should get the device you feel good with, if you like samsung,nokia,lenovo, LG, go on get one, it is about a device you will be using as you use your wallet or your ID, however if you like Blackberry or apple... shame on you, you shouldn't even be on this page on the first place, anyways this is a free world so .. meh.

I had a hard time choosing between the ZL & S4. I finally picked the ZL and don't regret it.
The S4 is also a great phone but i found the ZL more compact.

I think the person that did the review on z and s4 is fake I got ZL guys is the best phone for now although battery performance is nothing compare to s4 as for me Zl is the.best take it or leave it

I hv owned xperia z and zl, what i can say is... Zl is better and outstanding battery performance against z.. xperia z is only good with the classy design, water and dust proof but having a poor battery performance and poor loud speaker... Better go for zl bcoz it is smaller and compact, very2 nice when u hold it...

after upgrading my ZL to 10.1.1.A.1.253 (Build version) I was not able to connect to LTE signal even the LTE signal is strong..anyone encounter the same problem?
