i planned to buy an android with a budget of not quiet much.
so please advise me which one is better:
- Sony Xperia ZL, or
- Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, or
- LG Optimus G Pro E988.

i like to make a picture a lot, chatting and browsing, play games (rare).

As for water proofing affect the call quality, I'm not really sure about that. Which was why I didn't mentioned that all. Give opinions based on what I know, rather something which might be wrong (:

Did u suffer low ear piece volume during call in your ZL.?
Did white color of ZL look bad in reality does it look the same as it is in picture and video unboxing.?

U forget to mention that any water proofing affects much loudness of speaker and ear piece volume due to protection sony do to protect it from water

Candy, 28 Nov 2013Which is better zl or z?*** Please read what I have wrote for the comparison of the ZL and ZR.

***I have the ZL and the screen quality is gorgeous!

*** Everything else is excellent except for the battery. It can last for about 9 hours with moderate usage. And it tends to get warm easily when playing games or browsing the web, but that's perfectly normal.

*** In terms of gaming performance, the ZR might have a slight advantage over the ZL all thanks to the lower screen solution of 720p that the ZR has. Furthermore, lower screen resolutions will certainly be less graphics hungry as compared to a screen resolution of 1080p.
The ZR is slightly smaller is size as compared to the ZL. The ZL is considered to be one the most compact 5 inch phone that you can get on the current market. A smaller ZR will certainly be a plus point for people with smaller hands since they will be able to handle the phone comfortably with one just hand. Hence, the ZR will fit the bill perfectly for girls with small hands, or for guys that are looking for phones that is slightly smaller than the ZL.

*** The ZR and Z are both dust and waterproof and the ZL is not. It all depends on your choice, weigh the various possibilities. Are you a careless person that might drop your phone once in a while? Is there a possibility that you will drop your phone into a pail of water or spill water on your phone?

ZR: Dust and water proof, spilling water/dropping into water shouldn't be a problem, shatter proof too.

ZL: It's not dust and water proof, spilling water/dropping into water might cause potential damages to the ZL. But it's shatter proof since the ZL does not have a glass panel on the back.

Z: Dust and water proof, spilling water/dropping into water shouldn't be a problem. But if you were to drop your phone on any hard surface (e.g Cement flooring), that's it! The back panel of the Z will be shattered right in front of your eyes.

*** Sony might be putting Android 4.4 into consideration for the ZR. This may be due to poor sales from the ZR model across the world, since its not on high/hot demand as compared to the ZL & Z. But I'm pretty sure that the ZR will still get the 4.4 update.

P.S - Choosing a phone doesn't have to depend on your lifestyle (e.g. Sleep early? Waking up early? Having late lunch? )

To be more accurate it should be based on your handling and using habits of your current phone /previous phones.

Candy, 28 Nov 2013Which is better zl or z?Dear Ms. Candy.

It all depends on your lifestyle. Please read this I wrote about a comparision between the ZR

I have the ZL and its screen is GORGEOUS!! (CPU Z says its DPI is 480! GSMarena says 441) Everything else is excelent, also. But the battery is not the most impressive. It can last 9 hours under constant varied usage. And it tends to get hot when playing games and browsing somehow heavily, but it's not abnormal.

In terms of performance the ZR is likely to perform super intensive (future) 3D *GAMES* a little bit better thanks to its 720 x 1280 ress screen. You know, less resolution, better for the GPU. The ZR is a bit smaller, though. (Even better for a girl)

The ZR is water resistant as the Z, that is a plus depending on your life style... For example, I don't care for that feature (I'm more on the dry side), but if it's there, good.

You should choose one depending on your lifestyle, both are super powerful devices with a long and bright future... (If Sony doesn't give the ZR the 4.4 update -for OpenGL 3.0-, there'll be custom ROMs for it, the same for the ZL). But Sony will update the ZR, it's clear it'll.

This would apply when comparing the ZL vs the Z. The Z is a bit bigger, the ZL is compact! I compared it against the Z1 and the Z1 looks quite big! The ZR is a good choice, it's like a fusion: ZL + Z = ZR. The ZR has the compactness of the ZL and the water resistant certifications of the Z, and as a fusion, it's a bit more powerful.
It all depends on you lyfestyle.

                          - L.

Pd: I liked more the black ZL than the white. The black looks more elegant. I think. It's kind of an elegant device.

Candy, 28 Nov 2013Which is better zl or z?don't compare them, try to get a Z1 on black Friday! you may be able to get it very cheap

anyways if you still want one of those 2, they are the same hardware/software wise, only difference is the Z water proof, and the ZL smaller and has IR blaster, so both phones are kind of the same, i chose ZL for the IR-blaster, i use it every day, but if you dont need IR, and live in wet/rainy country, get the Z.

then again, if you can buy on black Friday, get the Z1 !! chances are, you may find it 50% off or more

Everything calling related on this phone is fine!

What is not impressive is battery life... some 9 hours under constant usage... not too bad. Oh, and the device gets a hot while playing, but just for a moment, and it's not abnormal.

                                      - L

Pd: Gaming is superb! But NFS MW ruined the graphics configuration in their 1050 version (I hope they fix it), better use 1046 version. 1047 is a bit buggy.
