I am also an Xperia Sp user :) ... besides 2 gm ram and quad core, xperia sp is absolute beast at single core PLUS at Gaming! The xperia sp scores better than any of other xperis (including all the Zs) ! Also, in Epicel, The unreal engine 3 test, Xperia sp beats all of the other xperia's and pretty much all the phones out there by scoring 58! This is the quote from gsm arena themselves:
"But most games will probably want to run at native resolution, so we're including Epic Citadel, which uses Unreal Engine 3. Unreal Engine is popular with mobile game makers, so it's a pretty important test. Here, the Xperia SP was able to top out are charts, but before we get too excited, let's keep in mind that the test is run in native resolution, which in the SP's case is 720p. Most of the other top scores are from 1080p-toting devices." -- meaning that the SP kills the ZR as well as ZR lacks single thread speeds which xperia sp has! Xperia zr scores 57.2 while SP score 58.. which is at the top!
Anyways, in the multi thread scores, abviously the ZR is going to beat the sp considering it's a quad vs. dual.. but in single threading xperia sp is all the way!
Another point! Xperia sp score HIGHER in Geek Bench 2 in processing power and memory and performance test! Xperia ZR MIGHT have a slower memory (RAM) speeds than of Xperia Sp's .. this shows that the Xperis SP isn't a bad choice at all as a phone considering its price! Be happy with what you have as it's one of the fastest andriod device for Unreal Engine 3 gaming !!!

Have been using this phone since June 2013. This is my honest opinion. Good camera, Good interface, good screen (not the best but very good), never had probs with bluetooth, battery will last you a day on heavy usage. Very good build quality. Survived a nasty drop from the top berth of train without any visible damage. Tend to heat up a little on heavy use but it has not caused any problems, you get used to it. Plays all processor intensive games I've tried flawlessly.Also tried apps like FLmobile, caustic, runs very well.The front cam is lousy vga (why sony? why?). Never tested its waterproof ability and don't intend to,but I have used it in the rain no probs.(keep all ports closed always). Using a chinese brand temei dock for charging, very convienient. Overall very happy. Have also rooted and tried many different roms on it.

Xperia ZR is a awsome mobile i have seen in the market.the phone has vgood camera,ram is good,processor is good....
i lik that mobile bz phn is handy.
mobile is heating quietly but it is given u the lag free performance......
buy it.........

ZR is water resist best phone. I also capture under water but no case. Battary also good im use 2-3 day without charge. photo best video perfect.

Anonymous, 02 Mar 2014SP?ZR is better because you have 2 GB of ram here. Android is more likely to lag with just one GB of ram if you run too many apps. SP is awesome though my friend has it and is facing no problem with it

Oh my god sony xperia zr sucks, it is not a perfect one for gamers. I have played 6 guns the game has lot of issues like drop frames,lags and graphics is better.
Nexus 4 and gionee e5 are best for gaming. Really
