No bad fone only prob is the stupid bluetooth! They made the same mistake as Apple did with the iPhone the bluetooth is practically useless, i can't listen to my music with a stereo headset and i can transfer files! And finally a for for T-mobile in the US w/ 3G but they still don't barely support it on their network.

The is great and never had an issue with the phone. Has never froze when using the interface. Some of the apps in the android market are shovelware. I recently won a Free Tmobile Behold from Borgata Casino and this Cell phone is Mediocore. I love my G1 but since I gave it to my Girl I'll buy another one just to have. Great phone so far no complaints. Now we just need a good Nintendo Emulator and I'll be set.

Very nice, fast, amazing phone. Phone for the internet I would say. It's very easy unlockable, and everything works. If you have bought it from T-mobile, then You have to wait 90 days and ask them for the unlock code. If You don't want to wait, then just go www.unlock-tmobileg1.com, pay about 30 USD and they will send you unlock code. I did this, got code in two hours and everything works just fine. I'm using this phone for calls, internet browsing, GPS and email.

Finally!! the G1 is to be available in India by December or January (fingers crossed). Cant wait to get my hands on it... just wanted a favor from you guys, if someone could please clear these doubts for me...
as per some reviews the phone design is not too comfortable to use...
the battery doesn't last a day
Bluetooth transfer of files can never be made possible as it is not a firmware update but a hradware one..
(these are something i picked up on the internet. i'm yet to see the phone in person)
Thanks for all the help,
Cheers
Sid

Hi,
The G1 Specification wise it looks it is a great phone.
I have a doubt. Lot of unlocked G1 mobiles are listed in the ebay.com. Will all functionalities work in that unlocked device?
Mainly I want to know the GPS and Push Email will work or not in Unlocked device.
How much worth buying the unlocked one?
Thanks in advance.

I am surprised that no one mentioned a everyday use function on this phone - the Ringtone, which is the speaker.
Oh my god, it is very bad, sound worse than a cheap radio, how can you use it as alarm in the morning?
And i will feel embarrass when people is calling me, unless some of you will only use the silent mode, ha ha

Used the G1 and it's a great phone but the battery life is very bad, use reminds me of the Azpple iPhone (and YES you can erase a single call log #, just press the entry for 3 seconds and a menu comes up)
Overall with a much much much better battery, this phone will be a winner..

I'm an engineer, physicist, businessman. A good way to know you have a good tool is when the tool gets better and better the more and harder you use it. The more I used the G1, the less I loved it, and returned it after 5 days. [Instead, I bought the metal Nokia E71 for $359 (the classiest, most powerful phone i've ever owned)]. The G1 was exciting, a fun play toy, but I needed a reliable, well designed smartphone as a productivity tool that I could trust and could make work for me. Instead I was working for the G1, which was fun but wasn't productive.
I became concerned about reliability and build quality, when the back cover began creaking. I owned the HTC Dash and Shadow before which were mechanically poorly designed, but the G1 felt sturdier at first. (both Dash, and Shadow sit useless in my closet with defective screens). The back cover of the G1 is poorly designed as all one huge piece of thin plastic that warps easily. It was a naive approach, and considering other design problems like battery life, I began to question all the other aspects of the design.
The G1 has all the specs but not a high quality of engineering design. The more I used it, the less I trusted it.
The nokia E71 is a much more capable phone, for me. If you want web browsing, G1 is better because of bigger screen. I use Opera Mini 4.2 on the E71. But if i want web browsing then I can be buy web surfing tablet pc with a 5.6" screen with wifi and bluetooth. And i can tether it to my cell phone so the cell phone gives 3G data speeds for the tablet when no wifi available.
