My friend has got a G1 few days ago, he told me that the battery is extremely bad, he had a switch of charged about 12 hrs when he first got it, but the battery still cant last 24hrs, and it switched itself off. then he went to the tmobile shop, the sales asid this is normal.....
the sales told him that the firmware for this G1 is R7 which is not very good, but the new one R28 will be better.
So anyone here got the same problem?

Saw the G1 in the Tmobile shop I must say the white version is rather hedious but black version is rather cool and not ugly at all. Just waiting for my contract to be up in a couple of days and I am getting it in black

I received my g1 yesterday, I have placed many new applications. The bad points are: no audio output 3.5 mm, has no video recording, I can not use the fring yet!

Anyone know if this unlocked phone would work with Rogers? I read somewhere about it not accessing the Android Market, but I guess that's because it can't be on 3G?

Is the screen flushed with the body as in flat with the body like the HTC Diamond for example or is it recessed like older WinMo devices?

it could have been the sidekick 5 for t-mobile

but one thing i have to comment on is..
What were they thinking making this extremely UGLY body?
it is by far the ugliest looking phone amongst any of its competitors
3 steps backwards htc.. especially when u have such a nice htc diamond??????????

yo i have recently recieved the G1 like 2 days ago and i can say its far yet one of the best smartphones out there, and of course theres flaws (who doesnt?) but the 1 thing that stands out most about the phone is the OS. its so f***ing amazing and the apps that r free for download!!! bad thing, no stereo bluetooth and gps

seems to me that android is looking a bit incomplete.
no video player, no flash in the browser, no proper bluetooth.
all seems a bit iphone-esque.
also is it true that this phone was going to be a windows mobile phone, but last minute changes chucked android on it?

how can you watch avi files on G1, what file types are supported, can you view word, excel and pdf files with the doc viewer and where is there a list of the applications available please. any help for a potential buyer?

not practically used but reading the feature and all opinion about this model, it sounds good but only thing is no knowledge about availability in india, and best part is compare to iphone camera pixel were iphone is 2mp and this is 3.15mp. and also Q.keyboard. this makes life easy. anyway i wish all good luck for this model. is rocking.... i believe....

phone is AWESOME us recieved it yesterday.had the dash before and the g1 blows it out the sky, including the weak IPHONE

The YouTube on the G1 lacks picture quality vs. the iPhone/iPod Touch. The iPhone's YouTube is superior to the G1 in picture quality.

I had a look at the G1, and found out that the web browser does not support Adobe Flash.

If you keep your Wifi off, 3g, GPS off... Battery life is almost doubled. Just use Edge unless you need more speed. When you are done, turn it off. This phone is really reliable. I've had it for a few weeks now, bought it the day it came out. I've never had an issue. Phone at the end of the day when it's time for bed is when it reaches 15% battery, so I plug it in overnight. But I never really talk on the phone, so I also conserve battery that way. I personally have no complaints what so ever, I've used the iPhone before and wasn't impressed. But this phone I love. I'd have to test both next to eachother for a final judgement, but I love this phone too much to bother.

Man I can't even demo this to customers because I have to set up a google mail account to activate it! Hopefully we get some demo units, because it looks like an interesting handset.

64k colours is a windows mobile limitation not an HTC issue. I believe windows mobile 7 will address this and try to catch up with the other software based phones currently running at 16m etc...
