Man I can't even demo this to customers because I have to set up a google mail account to activate it! Hopefully we get some demo units, because it looks like an interesting handset.

64k colours is a windows mobile limitation not an HTC issue. I believe windows mobile 7 will address this and try to catch up with the other software based phones currently running at 16m etc...
hope this helps

Some people say that the battery life is poor, well it's all depending on how you use it. Android G1 lets you know what apps are the ones that burn the most battery and you should only turn them on when you are using them, because when they are idle it means that they still have to get battery energy. So its all about on how you use it. For example the Satellite GPS uses more battery power than just the plain regular street view. Another example is if you're Logged in in AIM, MSN and your Email account. All this apps need to be idle while you are doing something else, So always make sure you turn off what you aren't using and your battery life should resist much much Longer.
P.S Android G1 is Better than the iPhone.

What I really like from this forum is that there is so many objective opinions about cells. Ok, just to remember you something...no one of you own the G1. So can you speak about it and say "it sucks" or "I recommend it" ??!!

i'm trying to demo the G1 to customers. But it seems we can't use a dummy simcard as you have to setup a google account whilst connecting to the internet. Is there a way around this, I just want to see the god damn thing in action!!

Design = Fail
Multi-Tasking = Win
Battery Life = Fail
Android = MAJOR WIN
Within the next few months, I wouldn't be surprised whenever a new iPhone app launches for $5, it launches in the Android store next day for free!
Next year, will be the year of the ANDROID. It's Open Source, I want to cry with happiness, oh the joy!
Someone please hug me, my iPhone is vibrating.

So what exactly is GPS used for? I can still get directions, determine my location, and use the street view feature when I turn off GPS and operate using the wireless connection.
Also, is there anyway to set ringtones for text messages?

if G1 is an open based thingi, when the video recording update and stereo bluetooth sharing and file sharing updates are availabe, do i just have to update the software it's working on. or do i have to discard the current model and go in for the newer one??
