Just grabbed that phone in Canada for 190 USD from Virgin.
Very pleased with it, so far no significant issue, just minor gripes.
1) On/Off button not ideally positioned. Easy to push it by mistake.
The forthcoming protective case should help solve this.
2) If you touch the screen sides in the least, may render the screen unresponsive.
There's an option to disable side sensitivity, which greatly helps alleviate this issue.
The protective case will help on that front too.
3) The device is quite slick and polished. Very easy to drop it, and it tends to
slide easily from surfaces. Again, the protective case will solve this.
4) Unable to take pictures at low rez, I think it's an Android 11 thing.
No problem, I got some picture resize free app, it does the trick.
5) Some applications have trouble accessing the SD card.
Again, likely an Android 11 thing.
6) Battery not removable, but videos on youtube show it's fairly easy to replace it.
Glue just around the edge and battery held in place with what seems to be
double-sided scotch tape. I can do this, when the time comes.
Overall, for $200 you get a lot for your money. I think tcl is trying to capture market shares.
I'd never hear of them before, but compared to Samsung, the price was good.
So far I recommend it, time will tell, reliability wise...

I love it that this phone doesn't have a camera bump at all, means that it'll be in place even if you try to move it just to know it wobbles

60 GHz refresh rate not good and speaker volume too low...TCL should work on these things...

TCL 20 Pro 5G, I love this phone. I bought mine on Amazon and it was delivered on 18th August 2021. When I was searching for a new phone and having made the decision to avoid anything Samsung, I came across a report about the phone and TCL and I was moved to know more about the make, bear in mind that TCL is unknown in the mobile phone industry. I was impressed with the specs and features. While searching deeper, I read some positive reviews and those reviews helped me make up my mind. I have to say that I am really happy with the phone so far and I will recommend it to anyone. So, anyone considering this TCL 20 Pro 5G or any other TCL phone should go for it. To make it even better, TCL released a new firmware update based on Android 12. I have to tell you that the update has made the phone even more desirable. When scrolling, it makes the phone have this stretchy reaction, it makes the phone screen feel elastic. I appreciate the phone more now and I think you too will.

I bought this phone in late September. Since then I have had to send it in for repair 3 times Not only was t he original problem was never fixed, the sent me back a refurbished phone with a badly scratched screen, and then told me "the warranty doesnt cover scratches," and that they would not fix this, even though it was clearly their fault. Now my 3 month if phone won't even turn on, so i guess it's going back for repair #4. Steer clear.

I really like this phone. 48 mp camera is amazing in my opinion. "Super Night "setting takes detailed night sky pictures ...star brightness is just like looking up. It has a beautiful display also. Then I installed a Tempered glass screen protector. It went on perfectly and looks great, but the screen touch response became almost non-existent. Even with the Response slider wide open, it wouldn't scroll or respond to a tap.

I just got this phone a few days ago. So far I have not noticed any of the issues mentioned here. However I have noticed that the phone will not activate the Google assistant when the screen is off. I'm not sure if this is Android 11 related or a problem with the phone. Other than that it's a nice device with a few short comings I hope tcl addresses in the next revision.
