Nick, 18 Jan 2020I've had the same issue as well with telstra in australia, ... moreI'm from Serbia and my provider is TELEKOM MTS Serbia, they don't know about update android OS for this phone.
Unfortunally, in Serbia, most people didn't hear for TCL brand( or another little know brand like One plus, Realme, Oppo, Xiaomi... which is very good phones) and buy expensive phone "famous" brand like Samsung, Huawei, Apple, Nokia. This oppinion created commercials and people are very confused when buying a phone. Most people think, if phone expensive then is high-end class phone and for prestige, buying some rubbish of big brand.
I bought this phone for a 240 euro ( 24 x 10 euro for two year) and I think is a best buy phone. Many brands give us very good performnce and quality for a lees money, but people are "stupid" .... and didn't know many about a "new" tehnology.
Also, they didn't know about OS, update or upgrade, becouse they too much lazy to inform from special sites.
So, that a sad story from Serbia.
Yet, a minority of people, enthusiasts ,they educated himself and they keep up about a newly released phones and and the Serbian site BENCHMARK helps us with that ....a big greeting to Peci & co....

Got a chance to play with this phone today in JBHiFi and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Good looking and felt great in my hand. The screen was beautiful the software was fast and responsive and nothing to complain about the camera shots I took either. Defenitily on par with Mi 9T which has slightly better processor but no expandable storage.

I bought phone two weeks ago. It's fantastic. Display is great, battery very good, excelent for gaming, hardware is top, Anyway, this phone is best value. I paid for this product about 285 euro, in Serbia - provider MTS TELEKOM.

simply impressive. it's like a go between blackberry and alcatel.. fairly huge display.. big built in memory.. not so much w/ cameras but it has 3... AND.. mine came w/ free TCL LED 24" TV...

I believe this will be a good value for money. Like the first VIVO v3 in which it has good specs to market the phone. Like Vivo, this will be a great hit once no issues arise. Go for it!!!

Just go with Samsung A50 & upwards, avoid headache with this kind of experimental phone selling, which i feel like TCL is just throwing some bait out & testing the market. If it sells then continue, if Not well.... back to selling alcatel & blackberry. like the tactics kingston done selling their SSD bait & switch.

Spec sheets do not list OTG support, yet I found OTG cables literally named "OTG for TCL Plex" or similar. I don't think they're any different from other adapters though.
Does anybody know whether this device supports OTG?

TCL sells high end good quality TV in the US, & ONLY available in the US (Special Treatment), to other ASIAN country we only can find 1 or 2 crappy TCL models. If this phone only available here in south east asia, meaning its a crappy phone coz its only available here in Asia, wow the irony.

which info is correct? TCL's Website show its main Camera spec is SONY IMX582, But most review sites wrote its a SONY IMX586. seems not much genuine info around wiil this phone even get updates support. since its TCL's 1st Global phone, hoped they give at least 1year OS updates, if not i rather fork out more & get Oneplus offering.

It's a really surprising device , really good liking ips lcd screen almost looks like an Amoled unit, feels cheap in hand.
Almost free bloatware and stock Android aproach. It reminds a lot when Alcatel launched the idol series back then before they decided to go for cheap devices.
But asking price of 349€ in Europe that's just too much for a brand that many have never heard of it. When price falls (it will soon I guess) , for 250€ it would be a better deal
