TCL Tab 10 Gen2, Tab 10L Gen2, RayNeo X2 announced

TCL held its big global flagship product launch event where we saw a multitude of announcements. We already covered the TCL 40 NxtPaper phones in a and we are now turning our attention to the TCL Tab 10 Gen2 and Tab10L Android tablets as well as the RayNeo X2 augmented reality (AR) glasses.

TCL Tab 10 Gen2 and Tab 10L Gen2

TCL Tab 10 Gen2 brings a 10.36-inch IPS LCD with 1,200 x 2,000px resolution and a Helio P22T chipset alongside 4GB RAM and 64/128GB storage which is also expandable via the microSD card slot. The slate features a 7.4mm slim metal body and weighs just 425 grams. There’s a 5MP front-facing camera while the back features an 8MP shooter and LED flash. Tab 10 Gen2 supports stylus input and also packs dual speakers

Tab 10L Gen2 brings a 10.1-inch IPS LCD with 800 x 1,200px resolution and a Mediatek MT8766B chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which is again expandable via the microSD slot. You also get a pair of 2MP cameras on the front and back as well as dual speakers and a headphone jack.The software side on both slates is covered by Android 13 while their batteries come in at 6,000 mAh and support 10W charging over USB-C.

TCL Tab 10 Gen2 is priced at €169 while Tab 10L Gen2 is €109. Both will be available in Europe soon.

TCL RayNeo X2

The RayNeo X2 AR glasses feature binocular full-color microLED optical waveguide displays with up to 1,000 nits rightness. The glasses are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 platform.

TCL is marketing the RayNeo X2 as the ideal smart assistant device capable of real time multi-language translation, navigation with interactive landmarks as well as video calls and music playback via the built-in speakers. The stems also include a camera which can be used to capture images and video. The glasses feature a 590 mAh battery which is rated at up to 3 hours of continuous usage.

TCL RayNeo X2 will launch in China first in the coming weeks, followed by a global release later this year.

The worse Mediatek chip here is a 4x A53 chip and about 10-20% worse than the Snapdragon 429. The 429. Gosh help it against the bloat of 2023 Android, not to say much about the years beyond.
