Alright guys, I've reset the phone to Android 13 by the authorised service centre, and here's what I observed:

1) The battery life: I guess the battery life has almost restored to normal, cuz after 1 hour of SoT (casual usage), the battery is at 76% from 85% at the morning (it's noon here now). Just 9% of drain (with no battery saving more or smth like reducing refresh rate), so I conclude that the battery drain issue is because of Android 14 update.
2) Heating: I haven't used tho phone heavily till now, so I didn't observe any significant heating, and I believe there won't be any haha.
3) Performance: The performance is as usual, nothing too different but the older UI designs (of HiOS 13) were better imo so...

Finally, if you guys can, just go downgrade to Android 13, else kindly wait for the patch or major update that solves these issues.

    GamingB36, 04 Feb 2025Is this still good in 2025 for gaming?(As long as i buy a p... moreOfc bro, if I hadn't updated to Android 14, in my opinion, this is the best performance phone under 20K INR, cuz at Android 13, I was able to play MLBB at high graphics + extreme fr (120fps), Genshin Impact at smooth + 60fps, all without any lags, latency issues, battery drain or frame drops... Now I can't play the games as "blazing" as before... That one update ruined everything...

        USAMAH, 31 Jan 2025I've discovered an hack to this problem, if you batter... moreAlright, I tried this method for a couple of charging cycles (85% to 30%) but unfortunately I wasn't able to see any changes, not even very minute changes... The SoT remains low as usual, and the heat's still there... so I'm reverting the changes (turning off the virtual RAM cuz I don't want to ruin the internal storage). Only a proper patch or major update will fix this issue imo...

I've bought this thing for 18,000 INR (no offers or exchanges), felt like a great value for money before this damn update, now, very rarely, I feel like if I hurried up on this... Maybe I'll exchange this phone within 6 months if this issue doesn't gets solved...

                  No improvement so far.

                  I'm guessing it's the HiOS 14 software that's the issue and what is draining the battery.

                  Maybe it was not optimised properly for dimensity 8050 or something.

                    Phone is regularly at around 40°C which I feel is too hot for just normal scrolling and light use.

I am happy with the phone, as I am still receiving security updates and running Dec, 2024 security patch. What more to expect from an INR 9,549 ($110) phone? Of Course I receiving a great exchange offer from Tecno, selling 11 year old Motorola Moto G for $120. That was crazy deal on Amazon.

                          Worst phone I've ever bought. In just 11 months, this model suddenly turned off and bootlooped. It throttles very, very much, the leather back gimmick peeled off, the screen scratched, and the battery drains very, very fast. Overall, this phone is trash.

But why only some phones and not all? Maybe since before December 2024 patch, there was the October 2024 patch so I guess the next patch update will be in March 2025, and hopefully it solves this issue...

No idea when this will be fixed... Btw the battery idle drain is very less (like just 1 or 2% even after 10 hours of idleness) but when I start using (like scrolling or texting on WhatsApp), something else too runs in the background and drains the battery... I'm unable to find out what causes the drain... If anyone have ideas just share here guys...

                                  Didn't notice any significant improvement


                                  Next attempts I tried today:
                                  - switched to 90hz
                                  - turned on power boost
                                  - turned on battery saver

                                  Hopefully it might reduce heating and high battery drain

But what can i say, i bought this phone just 110$ new xD

                                        Mizukk115, 30 Dec 2024Well the "battery drain" Problem on "this ph... moreI don't think so, bro, cuz I just downloaded 5 apps after installing this new patch and resetting the phone, and the battery drain is still there, with just casual usage like whatsapp, snapchat and occasionally MLBB, with wifi and 4G/5G mixed, the SoT from 85% to 30% is just around 6 hours with this usage, it's very low compared to the condition before Android 14 update, cuz with this same usage it was around 10 hours of SoT... I really thinks it's some bug or issue with the initial (major) software update for Android 14...
