Top 10 trending phones of week 39

Chip, 29 September 2019

Two weeks back Apple's new 11 trio debuted and dominated our trending chart to be followed by the Huawei Mate 30 lineup last week. This time around it was Xiaomi's turn to show it latest and greatest and top the popularity contest.

The Mi Mix Alpha may be nothing more than a concept device, but it's just so exciting that even people who know they'll never own it can't stop looking at it.

Following it as a distant second is the Google Pixel 4 - that one is yet to go official, but with leaks so extensive we feel like it's been around for a while now.

In third sits the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, which managed to retain its position as the interest in the Mate 30 lineup dwindled.

Samsung's Galaxy M30s was another big gainer this week, entering the chart in fifth position, ahead of the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

The other upcoming Google phone, Pixel 4 XL, also made the top 10 and placed just ahead of the newly announced super affordable Redmi 8A.

The Galaxy A50 is among the few phones to always stay in the chart despite all the new announcements, but it's only ninth this week and it might already be on its way out.

The final spot on the chart goes to the Apple Phone 11 - the cheapest member of the new trio.

That means the iPhone 11 Pro misses out this time, along with three of the four Mate 30 variants. Realme XT is the other phone to lose out in what is a rather different looking top 10 in week 38.

Did I read A50 might be on its way out? Not really. A couple of months to go. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it stuck around to the end of the year. The guys who are actually on their way out are iphones. I can bet neither of the iphones will b...
