Upgrade your tablet with a Samsung Galaxy Tab S-series slate this Prime Day from Amazon UK and US

If you need something more powerful than the Amazon Fire tablets, there Prime Day deals on Samsung’s outgoing Galaxy Tab S8 series too. “Outgoing” since the Tab S9 generation is just around the corner (will be unveiled at the end of the month), but tablets age slower than phones, so you don’t have to get the latest model.

We’ll start off with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, the only one with an LCD in the S8 family – an 11” 120Hz panel with 2,560 x 1,600px resolution (16:10). This slate has an 8,000mAh battery with 45W charging. Like its pricier siblings, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and comes with an S Pen included.

The Galaxy Tab S8+ has a larger 12.4” Super AMOLED display (120Hz, HDR10) with 2,800 x 1,752px resolution (still 16:10). The battery is bigger, 10,090mAh, the charging is the same at 45W. Note that these are Wi-Fi tablets (there are LTE models as well, if you want that) with 128GB storage (all have microSD slots for easy expansion).

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is the largest of the bunch with a 14.6” 2,960 x 1,848px display (16:10) and a 11,200mAh battery. Note that all three S8 tablets have DeX, which works both on the tablet’s own screen and on external monitor over USB-C too.

The Galaxy Tab S7 FE also has DeX and a USB-C port with video out. Its 12.4” display is a 60Hz LCD (2,560 x 1,600px), unlike the S8+. And it is powered by the Snapdragon 778G. The S8+ is clearly better, but there is a not insignificant price premium over the S7 FE.

Finally, the Galaxy S6 Lite (2022) is the cheap option of the Tab S family. Still, like the S slates, this one has DeX and comes with an S Pen included, so it’s ready to take notes. It has a 10.4” 60Hz LCD (2,000 x 1,200px) and a Snapdragon 720 chipset, so it’s no powerhouse, but it is around half the price of the S7 FE.
