The only thing it's better than is the rounded edges of the screen, which I'm already used to. Oneplus is no longer the same. When they became under the wing of vivo, it decided to kill them. Now you can’t even change the Chinese Color OS to Oxygen, and there is almost no difference between these two OSes.

Other benefit of fast transfer rate is can have HDMI output from USB-C port. However, all these comes at higher cost, more expensive hardware. The HDMI output also has cost, as it actually use processor to convert signal to HDMI, the performance of the smartphone will reduce. Yes, the higher, the better, only if you willing to pay for the price, so pick Samsung smartphone or newer Motorola smartphone if you think USB 3.1 is important to you, but stop yelling at lower priced smartphone.

Yes, you can tell the different if you switch between FHD and QHD on Samsung smartphone, because it is Samsung's software trick, they will try to make the FHD look more worse than a proper FHD. Try to compare between a proper native FHD screen vs native QHD screen on Samsung with the same content, I bet you won't tell a different, and might confuse where you might think the FHD screen is clearer/better.

So they're atleast IP 53/67 and why do you want a certificate which says they're water resistant just to increase overall cost?
