After using this phone for 12 days, I can say I have no regrets so far.
The battery life is really good for a mid range phone. I can get closed to 40 hours of standby with closed to 4 hours of on screen time before it goes off. And data is mostly on HSDPA. At a little more than 6 hours of screen time, the battery lasts for 20 hours. Charging from 0% to 100% takes 1 hour and 40 minutes. From 10% to 100% only takes 105 minutes. It gets to 50% in about 30 minutes time.
To me, the front camera is still lousy with little options for scene modes. It can only takes decent selfies under ample light. Low light selfies are hopeless. Fine if there isn't a flash but could have at least enables screen brightness for a better selfie under low light.
The flash on the rear camera though is good! Under low light if you enable the flash to take a picture of yourself, your face don't come out whitewashed. It even adjusted the flash properly with shots that have bright background behind you. SO for me if i want to take a selfie I will use the rear camera instead of the front camera. And it is not that difficult to do so because you can use either the fingerprint scanner or the volume down button to take the shots.

Hence, the package comes with a lousy earpiece, no type-C USB port and there will be no Marshmallow updates(already stated by Vivo several times).

funwithash, 02 Jun 2016I don't believe even on people replying on forums as they d... moreWell I have been using a lot of Vivo phones for the past two years, and have been constantly asking for android version upgrades for each of their flagships in Vivo forums. Every time there was only one answer from the moderators and that was none of their phones will ever receive any android version updates. And they had been very consistent in that. On course of time I have seen they had always spoken the truth as none of the Vivo smartphones got any updates.
What makes you think they are lying and how are you so sure of V3Max to receive Android 6? Are you speaking on behalf of Vivo?

So there is no question of when to update. Secondly I trust more the vivo forum moderators who directly communicate with their R&D rather than their sales reps. :)

Retailers and vivo sales executives are promising for Android marshmallow upgrade and companies generally avoid to announce dates for updates as people tend to relentlessly ask questions about delay or stability of the update so wait and watch however security updates are coming regularly which was also not seen in previous vivo phones

V3 Max is not getting android 6.0 update as fas as indian market is concerned.
Yesterday confirmed by service agent in vivo global forum. So no point in purchasing a phone which will not get latest OS upgrades. Even if it has nice software gimmics and capable hardware.
Very unfortunate

In their official Vivo forums it is now declared that newly released V3Max will never receive any android version upgrade. So you will be forever stuck with the ageing Android Lollipop (ver. 5) and never get the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Consider this before buying.
This is totally unacceptable for an INR 24K device like V3Max. Shame on you Vivo.

Have you tried it? Also are you using the international version with Google Play services enabled?
I differ from you thoughts about Vivo making better phones that ALL other Chinese phone manufacturers, but yes they defintely makes better phone than Oppo. The F1 Plus have been a miserable experience.

Chinese smartphone companies have a bad reputation of making third quality products and poor service but Vivo is different. From all the Chinese phones I have used, I like Vivo the most. This is the first time a Chinese company has introduced high quality premium phones. Of course, the price is a bit higher as compare to the other China built phones but in retur you are getting quality stuff. I have recently bought V3MAX and I am very happy with my decision. The phone is equipped with amazing and useful features. Whether playing games, listening music, clicking selfies, or posting on social media, this phone is good at many things. I would highly recommend Vivo V3MAX.

AnonD-524199, 28 May 2016very good phone as i am using v3max. I got it at 22k and it... moreX5Max is the best and most expensive phone Vivo have released till date in India. I have used all their flagships be it X5max, X5Pro, XShot & X3S. Also some mid rangers like V1 & V1Max. But none came close to X5Max. May I dare say this phone have "Charisma" as it is something special to me. I believe this is because Vivo was able to strike an ultimate balance between built quality, in-hand feel, display quality, camera quality, extra-ordinary audio quality and the sheer thinness of this device.
I toggle between my Vivo X5Max and Lenovo Vibe X3 mostly, sometimes taking a day off with my Xiaomi, Motorola and LeEco's.
