it's so funny to see that they're still using snapdragon 626 in 2018. seriously vivo ? don't wasting your money for ads, etc. it's useless.

No autofocus for front camera, No OIS for rear camera, no sAMOLED display. Vivo is digging its grave.

And why do customers need to pay for company's ads and marketings..they pay for the phone... Vivo has improved. Vivo v7+ which is a 7000 indian rupeer phone was priced at 22000 but and v9's actual price is aroud 13k

This phone doesn't worth the price . Its plastic , old processor not up to mark camera quality . Xiaomi note 5 pro is way better than this . 👎 For me

-This phone has 2 YEARS old SoC , thats alone cant compare with recent xiaomi phone..
- if you want to compare it, then get your fact right first, this phone will be same price with Xiaomi Mi Note 3.. SD660 alone will be no contest, hence mi note 3 has far better main camera.
- Redmi note is cheaper yet faster CPU, yes the display is average with decent density, but so Vivo, no where near color accurate..
-software : can you root vivo ? Are these has better dev community ? I had vivo xshot, its flagship but NEVER get update major android version.. funtouch no difference with MIUI, but you get 5 YEARS support on MIUI version and flagship get 2 Major android version.
The only good thing from this V9 is front camera, which i rarely use..
Maybe its a must feature for you..
Last : look how agressive Vivo on marketing, the more money pour for marketing the more questionable the quality, because Quality speak by itself.

Means, if u r paying 23000 for this phone then at least 10000 rupees we are wasting for a brand.
Xiaomi is making food and selling directly wire Flipkart. there is no unnecessary expenses. quality is same in almost all phones nowadays . Apple, Samsung such companies are spending a lot of money on marketing _ that does not mean that they are providing quality products then cheaper phones.
it's all about marketing dear.. not quality.

I am seeing most of the people here supporting redmi note 5 pro over v9 but let me tell you one things guys
snapdragon 636 over 626 don't know that software also matters alot and I bet that v9 626 will give better user experience than redmi pro 5 636 because redmi software suc** and its really heavy while vivo software is really good and light...
Redmi might have good hardware but its build quality and display quality is really bad the only place which I think they are cutting their cost and other reason its always on flash sale not on offline market ..
And also there is something called QUALITY which Samsung, sony etc gives thats why their prices are also high than low quality redmi (hardware is good though) phones..

there is NO such thing as "FULL VIEW" even %90 screen to body riato is a LIE
not an less you make it 100% (which VIVO APEX could have it) it is marking BULLS*IT
can you use the notch well taking selfes? wait can you use 18:9 of the display for pictures/videos?
can you turn off the notch when you don't need it?
the SoC is outdated SD450 (in terms of price to profurmens) is still better and you can do FHD+ display with it (see ZTE V9)
and the price did you like it? you have better option (1+3,xiaomi note 5 pro,etc...)
VIVOs formula:-
simple midranger+notch (and making it a bit like an expensive phone such as the IPHONE X)+price+selling it were the expensive phone is not available=more people will buy
don't fall for the marketing tricks choose wisely
I don't like Apple or HATE the notch I just hate those marketing tricks

They want to release their phones with a bang and lot of hype. Their target consumers are not tech savvy people like us, rather it the rest 90% of the population who uses phone but does not understand tech. Those consumers just see huge marketing billboards, flimstars advertising Vivo phones and mobile shops pushing for Vivo phones for higher incentives...... It's all a marketing game to sell a product.... just different companies have different policies....

If smartphone's target market is dictated by its SoC selection then this phone (with SD626) is lower midrange together with Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4x (with SD625) and Mi A(ndroid)1 (also with SD625). I know that the last 2 phones has no 18:9 display but the price bump is huge, is the Vivo's 18:9 display has very high tax? It doesn't even touch the Redmi Note 5 Pro's (SD636) territory but why the ridiculus price?

Again they put it there because of the hype the IPX has influenced but functionality-wise its unnecessary. The iPhone X has a notch because they totally eliminated the bottom bezel. This phone has a notch because, hype.
