VLC 3.0 nightly builds with Chromecast support are now available

Himanshu, 20 June, 2016

It was mid-2014 when the team behind VLC - which is arguably one of the most popular media players in the world - confirmed that future releases of the application will include support for Chromecast.

Now, almost a couple of years later, the feature (although in its early stages) has made it to the VLC 3.0 nightlies.

To access the functionality, head to the Tools menu which you'll observe contains a new option dubbed Render Output. When clicked, it displays Chromecasts on your local network.

To download the nightlies, head to the VLC link below - keep in mind that the feature isn't yet in its final form, and not to mention that these are nightly builds, so some glitches are expected.
